I couldn’t believe it! She wasn’t playing hard to get. She really did reject me, but that’s impossible.
“Wait, why is this bothering me so much? She’s just one girl, I could get another in 5 minutes. Probably less.”
But why? Why was this girl getting to me? What’s so special about her? From my point of view…nothing. She’s just like the rest of them, except she rejected me. Me, Courdrory Lopez. I got the bronze, no need for brains when you look this good, and I’m what the girls would call a ‘bad boy’. The type of guy all girls would want. Except, for her.
“Athena.” Her name was so ordinary, just like any other. So why did she reject me?
“And why am I still thinking about her?! What’s wrong with me!”
“Courdrory!”
Oh, great she’s home. “Yeah, mom!”
“Get down here now!”
I groaned and got up from bed to head downstairs to my, how you say, witch of a mother. I barley reached the edge of the stairs when something slapped me across the face. Of course I fell back, but not to the ground. I held the spot to feel how swollen it was. I guess one could say I was used to it, my mother was always the type to hit her child after a bad breakup.
“It’s all your fault! All your fault! All your fault! You damn brat! If you were never born then I would never have these problems! Men wouldn’t be dropping me every ten minutes.”
“Maybe they wouldn’t be dumping you if you weren’t such a—“
“Don’t you dare finish that sentence!”
I kept a straight face towards her. Whenever we would argue, I would show no emotions. It was a pure sign of how I felt, I felt like I was always in the middle of her problems. Her stupid social life, especially when she was drunk. I would always stay at my uncle’s house when she was like that.
“Are you done?”
She didn’t answer me instead she pushed me aside and went to her room, slamming the door behind her. ‘And she calls me a brat?’
