Athena
A big smile ran across my face as I hugged her. I was so happy that she was my friend again! I was happy that we were friends again! We spent the rest of the night talking, playing games, watching movies. All the things you’d expect at a slumber party. At the end of the night, we both crashed from a sugar rush.
The next day, my eyes opened. With a yawn and a stretch, I sat up. Last night was so much fun! It took me a second to realize that I crashed on the floor, while Alexis crashed on my bed. Knowing her, she probably kicked me off the bed.
I grabbed my phone and saw the time was 10:15 am. We stayed up pretty late last night, I’m surprised we didn’t wake up at 2 pm.
“What time is it?” a voice grumbled.
I looked behind me to see Alexis waking up with bed hair. “10:16,” I answered.
“Surprised we didn’t sleep ‘til 2 pm.”
That’s what I said!
“You’re right. If it weren’t for that sugar crash, we’d stayed up the whole night,” I laughed.
“True. So. What are you gonna do about Courdrory?” Alexis asked curiously.
My mood changed at the mention of his name. What am I going to do? He keeps flirting with me. Is it because I damaged his pride? Or does he just want to get even with me?
“I don’t know. The more I ignore him, the more determined he gets,” I answered.
“Isn’t it obvious?”
“What do you mean?”
“What I mean is he’s trying to get back at you. You’re his first rejection, obviously, he wants revenge. No guy is gonna let some random girl ruin his streak. Which you did,” Alexis explained.
I asked Alexa if she was positive and her reply was as smart as she was. Alexis did have a point though. That idea did cross my mind at some point. But nonetheless, I was not going to let Courdrory win!

Alexis and I managed to rekindle our friendship. She told me to keep her updated on things with “Mr. Bad Boy” as she called him. I gave her my word and she went home. I laid on my bed just thinking about…well, everything. Courdrory…he is such a boy! But then again, appearances can be deceiving.
Wait! What am I thinking! Courdrory is a jerk and he’s only after his win, which is breaking my heart! And I most certainly won’t let him win!
Now…how do I avoid such a fool? Well, there lies the problem. I can’t. He pops up out of nowhere and starts flirting with me. I do my best to ignore him, but he keeps going. Alexa said she’d try to be nearby, but I can’t always rely on her.
I sighed. “This is turning to a TV drama real fast.”
Courdrory Lopez…Then it hit me! Instead of resisting his game, why don’t I play along? He flirts with me, I flirt with him, but instead of him breaking my heart; I break his.
“Athena Lucca, you’re becoming so cruel. But sometimes you have to be.”
But should I let Alexis in on this? What am I thinking, of course, I should! She can give me tips on how to play him on. Besides this one game, she wouldn’t pass up.
Monday…let the games begin.

Courdrory
What was that chick’s problem?! No one can resist me! No one! I sighed. “Good grief, I’m losing my mind. She’s just a…Ugh!”
Athena was really getting to me. I have to hurry up and win her over, so I can break her heart. But I can’t rush things. If I do, then she’ll catch on. I need a plan…
Feeling stumped I went downstairs and grabbed one of my mom’s beers. It was Saturday, so I had enough time to sober up before going back to school. Besides, she wouldn’t even notice it gone. The beer was bitter but satisfying. Now I know why people drink it when they get stressed. My mom worked all day and night, so I had the house to myself pretty much every day. Of course, it gets annoying when she comes home drunk. Or brings one of her drunk and/or undrunk boyfriends over. Seriously, why am I called the brat when she’s the childish one.
“Okay, Courdrory you’ve had your beer,” I said throwing away the empty bottle. “Now, how can I make Athena fall for me? Think Courdrory think.”
My plan has to be simple, but not too simple. I have to be blunt, but not too blunt. Besides, I also have to worry about her friend. I think her name was Alexa. Yeah, she could be a problem. Their lockers are next to each other and she’s basically Athena’s lap dog. And I know for a fact that her bite is worse than her bark. She’d kill me on site. Plus, her brother is one of the staff, so I have to watch my step.
I need to figure out their schedules, so I can get Athena alone to make my move. We’ll see how long that innocence of hers lasts.
I can see it now…Her tear-filled eyes, her heart shattering to pieces. She will learn the hard way that no one rejects me! Nobody!
Monday…let the games begin.
