I took a sip out of my morning coffee, enjoying the calm and cozy feeling the warm drink gave me. We were in mid August, the autumn leaves were just around the corner as the somewhat chillier cold weather drifted over the city.
I hated the cold, a lot, which was why a warm drink was just what I needed before school would begin. My two best friends, Evelynn and Aria, kept me company like usual, making small talk to fill the quiet cafè.
I had almost finished up my coffee when I looked over at Aria, watching as she happily ate a third piece of banana bread. Nothing that was unusual, as Aria had quite the sweet tooth.
- What class do you guys have today?
- Just the usual for me. Math, french etc.
- Sounds boring.
- Oh hush, it’s school. It’s not supposed to be fun.
- Oo! I got dance class! It’s the first lesson this year so I’m super excited!
- Of Course you are. You get excited over the smallest things.
- Well I’m sorry, I just can’t help it. I at least enjoy my school days and do something fun instead of being boring and focusing on studies all the time like Eli.
- Hey rude. I can have fun as well. Like just the other day I got the highest score on a test. That sure was fun.
- ….yeah right. You need to find something else to do you know. Like joining a club like me for example.
- A club? No way.
- Why not? Afraid Alphas are gonna be in the club as well?
- You bet. There’s no way I’m gonna go anywhere near an Alpha.
- Oh come on! You can’t be hating on Alphas forever! Some people just might surprise you, you know!
- I doubt that very much.
I said with a small grin before leaving the conversation at that, both of them knew fully well the reason why I didn’t particularly like talking about Alphas, as I disliked them quite a lot.
I can’t help but feel like I’m always looked down upon and that I constantly have to prove myself worthy to even be in the same room as them.
After having finished our breakfast, we headed our way towards the school, which was luckily just a 10 minute walk from the café.
Not long before we arrived, the school bell rang, making all students head to their assigned classes as the hallways began to empty out. We parted ways, all of us heading towards our own separate classes, my first one for the day being French.
If I hadn't already had a cup of coffee this morning, I would have suffered.
You needed to be focused and pay attention to the teacher since he almost never wrote anything down on the board, making it hard to keep up. Assuming as well that we would listen to his every word since if we didn't we would most likely fail his class.
After about half-way into the lesson my phone buzzed slightly, curious, I took a peek at the screen.

- You guys! Guess what!
- What? Dance class is awesome?
- Why of course it is! But no, not that. I just made some new friends! And I want you guys to meet them! Does after school sound good? ♡
- Why am I not surprised? But sure I'm in!
- It's fine by me.
- YASSSSSSS!
The thought of meeting new people made me a bit nervous as I'm usually not very fond of having to talk and get to know new people. But since Aria seemed excited for us to meet them, I didn't complain or resist.
I just hoped for the best.
