The wildering herbs was nothing I had heard about before, the subject peeking some of my interest but not enough for me to waver from my scribbles in my journal. Throughout the lesson I would have picked up on a few herbs that can be found in the wild and which ones that can be used for eating. Nothing that seemed to intrigue any other supernatural that were obligated in taking this class aside from myself.
The journal I kept in hand, was something I had had with me for as long as I can remember, drawing and gathering information on the different creatures I have come across up till now. It had proven to be a useful item to single out what sort of creatures I was dealing with, their weaknesses and strengths.
Being all in my head, only slightly hearing the faint words sprouting out of the teacher's mouth when a sudden scent reached my nostrils. Its thick dark essence clouding around me, faint whispers bouncing off the walls as I looked around my surroundings. It didn’t seem to come from within the classroom, making me pack up my things in a hurry as I stood up, ready to head out.
I looked behind me at professor Wright who had spoken up to me, the textbook still open in his hand as he along with the other supernaturals looked towards me with eyebrows raised in question.
I couldn’t help but feel single out, having that many eyes to my attention wasn’t something that I was comfortable with. Yet I could not understand why they had stopped the lesson in order to confront me.
Professor Wright tilted his head, confusion in his eyes which I felt myself mirroring.
He made his words sound like I had done something wrong, crossing his arms as he leaned back against his desk. His reaction made me suspicious of his behavior, as what the older witch had told me before I was not held here against my will.
I took a step back, feeling my pulse rise as I looked over the room once more. Professor Wright's eyes wided, surprised by my words before breathing out a deep sigh.
I could hear faint whispering and chuckles along the other supernaturals, eyes watching me with what felt like I was being humiliated. I had once more been called out for my actions which I thought were normal but had proven to just be another thing I did not know about this type of life.
I could feel my cheeks burn up slightly, both of embarrassment and anger by being pointed out. I knew I wasn’t gonna be welcomed here, but why did I let it affect me?
Professor Wright closed up his book as the other supernaturals started packing their things up. Looking back at the teacher he gave me a nod, which I responded with one as well as a show of gratitude I suppose. The scent of the dark creature still lingered, which made me head out in search for it.
I tilted my nose up in the air, carefully trying my best to locate which way the smell came from. When I felt I had a lead I hastily made my way through the corridors of the school which were still empty of other people for another few minutes. Just like before whenever I felt as if I was getting close the scent would change directions. It could not be my imagination, meaning it could either somehow jump from one location to another in a blink of an eye, or someone is helping it. But why would someone want to help a dark creature?
All of a sudden the sharp sound of the school bell rang within the school building, making other supernaturals pour out into the corridors. Now my search was once more interrupted by the sounds and smells of others, as it was near impossible to hunt in these circumstances.
I breathed out a heavy sigh, ready to head elsewhere but as soon as I turned around my path had been cut by a big wolf boy. My eyes met with the guys gray ones, staying silent as I waited for him to speak first.
I watched the guy and his friends behind him snickering, which gave me a feeling of frustration and tiredness. These wolves along with any other supernatural at this school were beginning to get me on the nerv.
This was probably the first time I spoke up whenever someone had bothered me, which showed on their surprised expressions and how the room started to quiet down.
The wolf with the gray eyes started slowly approaching me, his friends following his steps as they began surrounding me from all sides. By instinct I carefully backed up, only coming to a halt when I felt the hard surface of the wall behind me.
People had been starting to gather, watching with intent, whispering as they only stood by and looked on.
I felt my anger rise once more, having had enough of these wolves and their shitty attitudes.
Right in the middle of his sentence my eyes lit up in a bright purple color, taking another step backwards as I walked right through the thick wall behind me.
As I slowly erupted from the other side of the wall into another corridor it took me a few seconds before I even realized I had let my emotions get the better of me. My eyes wided as I muttered a faint fuck. I had promised myself I wouldn’t use any of my abilities In front of others, yet I had failed that very task. Now that I have given them a hint of what sort of supernatural I could be I had to be careful with anything else. Though now that they had seen my ability to walk through walls, I could continue doing it. Right?
