"The God of FatFemme Boys" is a graphic poem that explores male image, identity, romance, relationships and sexuality. Fantasy and escapism are explored as coping mechanisms that are part of the Queer experience, and draw from anime/manga such as Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura to speak on secrecy, longing, magic, and fear that comes from loss. Through queering bodies, I investigate the intersectionality of a contemporary latinx identity and the clash of old world (colonial) modalities. The work draws on multiple personal narratives to investigate and question how the queer, poc, non-normative, curvy male body is seen in a world that values, white, heternormative, mesmorphic, cis-male bodies.
