Fitness is a Journey, Not A Race

Fitness is a journey, not a race. I hear it a lot, but with the societal pressure of having a tight tummy, toned limbs, etc. it is kinda difficult to forget that I shouldn't feel bad about where I'm at. I gotta like myself now to really get anywhere.
Who's to say I'll like myself more or than I do now or even be satisfied just because there are some changes on the outside?
Some progress is really better than no progress.
I came quite a ways from feeling as self conscious as I used to. Right now, my big goal is to be able to run long distances.
I'd also like defined abs, muscular arms and legs, and just look strong af. But I have to start somewhere.
I should forgive myself even if I don't eat as healthy as I should or if I don't make it to the gym everyday or if I don't look like the IG model at this moment. But I should also boost myself when I do make that effort to eat in and do even a little bit of exercise. Convenience is a helluva habit.
