Onion domes are a famous aspect of Russian architecture, particularly in churches. Although the when and why of their origin is disputed, they were widespread before the Petrine Baroque period. Pictured is St. Basil's cathedral, with edits.

If you didn't get it, I replaced the domes with actual onions. Hard to tell, I know.
