The fact that people are still subbing means so much to me- I went through a long emotional rut the last year or so and while I wanted to work on things it just wasn't feasible. Now my mental health is a lil back on track and I've got newer, better versions of PZ in the works- thank you for sticking around //v\\

Hey, I'm just happy to see new PZ content!
I know, I feel so bad being so far behind, but a lot changed for me recently and it just pushed me back even farther, but I'm glad there are people willing to wait and believe in me ;w;
I think a lot of artists do sometimes make bad decisions when they up and quit a comic, or decide to put it on pause to go back and redraw the whole thing, or take up a different project and leave their original work to kind of wither, etc. But I also think a lot of readers tend to forget that artists are real people with lives outside of their work, and stuff like moving house, medical issues, deaths in the family, mental illness, financial trouble, etc. all happen.
If you really appreciate something (or someone), then you stick it out through the rough patches, too. There are all kinds of discussions to be had about providing something for free and obligations between artist and audience and so on and so forth, but at the end of the day, as long as someone is making an effort (regardless of situation) then abandoning them makes you kind of a loser. Provided a content creator doesn't go total radio silence, then a real fan will wait for them. <3

So I'm currently redoing the first five chapters- everything is rewritten into chapter 30, which is near the end of arc 1, but im still drawing out chapter 1. Working between commissions, retail, drs appointments, etc, so im a lil slower than I'd like.
Basically, I came to ask- so I'm not deleting anything until I'm ready to post the chapters up, but I wanna ask- would you rather I...take /longer/ and draw all the way into chapter 4 or 5 [idk how long thatd take] or post the entirety of chapter 1 when its done and keep going from there? I wanna plan a chapter a month, if not go back to 2 pages a week, yknow? I feel....extremely poor for not updating but I just. Wasn't happy with how I wrote some things, like Jon and Nicks relationship- there was no real drive for it to be the way it was, so I fixed that. I also fixed the extent in which Leo and Nick already knew each other- so on- plus plot stuff that helps me down the road with bigger things.

Don't feel bad. Revision is an important part of the creative process it means you've grown. Take your time and do what ever feels the most comfortable to you. I'm happy to wait a little bit longer for chapter 1 if that is what you feel is better for you. Good Luck!
I definitely want to go back to reading the story as soon as possible, but it's more important overall that I know it's going to be there long-term, and I think that's probably more important for you as an artist, too. If you parcel it out and keep ahead of yourself on updates, then you'll always have a bit of a buffer and can update more consistently without having to worry as much about meeting your deadlines.

I have an idea of what I want to do...but any advice or, since you're my readers, what you have to say will and does matter to me.
I've taken the time to rework the plot a bit to 1) move it along and 2) fill any holes I couldn't make sense of with the first rendition. I lept into this so fast and without much thought I just wasn't happy, I guess. Now that I have a solid base, I'm, reworking the beginning chapters to fit that, which means what I'll probably end up doing is deleting everything I had before to repost the comic as new. I dont want to lose your comments or anything like that so I might end up screenshotting all of that and saving it. You've all been so sweet ;__; Maybe I'll find a way to leave the old pages up online somewhere? who knows;; or create a 'story' here thats an old archive. I'm also in the middle of planning written works that will include things I can't find room for in the main story-line.

I've seen other comics I follow update old entries with new pages. Beyond The End (go read it it's really good) replaced the first chapter with a redrawn one without deleting anything for example... if I am not mistaken anyway.
Like Random, I've also seen where artists leave up old work. It's sorta fun to compare old to new work!

I've seen that, as well; when the artist updates an existing page, it doesn't seem to delete any comments or what have you, so maybe that's the way to go.
Regardless, hope you get to feeling better - and know that the story up till now has been great. I think a lot of artists lose confidence in their old stuff as they see themselves improve, but never forget that we followed you for what you did at that time, which means we loved it back then and still love it now.

I've seen some comics restart as a new comic all together. Like you could do a 2.0 version without having to delete anything. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure comments don't delete if all you do is edit. Either way, take your time. Health comes first. We'll be waiting no matter what.
I've done a good chunk of new pages, but because I have a convention coming up I've been making merch for that, and then....had to slow down due to CT SO.....but yes. it's...coming along.
