Hello again! It's time for a quick update!!
I've been away from the comic for over a month! Wow! Time flies. I've been working on several other projects in the meantime, as well as some new pages.
I'm hoping to resume a regular posting schedule for Alli Ascending before the end of the year. This means updates are coming soon! I may not be posting weekly however, since that pace proved to be unsustainable.
I want to keep working on many things, and make them the best I can! Sometimes that means taking a hiatus from one thing to work on other things, sometimes that means watching youtube for four hours straight and not even dreaming of picking up a pencil a couple times a week. (Usually, both.) I have a tendency to run myself into the ground and do everything all at once, then do nothing for days. That's not a good habit to be in! And it's certainly not a good way to make progress. I'd like to change that habit.
So, I think I'll be posting every other Tuesday, or perhaps even once a month! I'm not completely sure yet. I'm also interested in doing more art videos on youtube (link in my bio) on a regular schedule, and I've got a couple of other miscellaneous projects here and there that I'd really like to make some progress on. (I also need to fix my sleeping schedule but that's neither here nor there...)
TLDR, I've got a lot to do! And I'm long-winded about it!

I do know what you're talking about. I used to post every week, but between working full-time and trying to get full pages done every week, I was burning out really fast. I switched to bi-weekly, if I can do more than one within that time, it's great! It gives me a buffer. Finding a routine to works, while keeping a full night's rest is definitely challenging. Possible, but it's not done overnight. I think you're bi-weekly plan is a good one.
Thank you so much for weighing in, Lyne!! Yeah the burnout is like, incredibly tough. I started to dread each week's update bc it was eating up so much of the very little free time I had! And it really killed the quality of the pages I was doing, not to mention making me miserable. I think if I can take it down a notch I'll be able to find time for more than just the comic and I won't get so tired of working on it.
I'm sure it will work out. It sure did on my end. I feel a lot more relax and I can have more of a balance life.

I'm not sure how long I'll be away yet, but while I'm away I'll be working on a buffer (among other things.) I'm not by any stretch abandoning the comic! Don't worry.
I can't comfortably keep pace with weekly updates right now, and I feel that the last few updates have suffered for it (and so has my enthusiasm!) So in the mean time I'm going to take a break and maybe when I come back I'll have a different update schedule? Something else? Who knows. Anything is possible.
