She ran through the woods. Her blonde hair was being blown through the wind and her clothes were all torn up. Her eyes filled with fright. She had to turn into a bt but she couldn’t due to the blast they had given her. It would be a few hours before she would be able to turn into that form again.

She was finally able to find a place to hide. It looked to be a house and she saw it was when she got closer. Lucky for her, the door was unlocked and she made her way in. She hid herself in the dark. It wouldn’t be long before someone came in and she peeked to see who it was.

It was someone she hadn’t recognised. The guy was looking at was black, he had a grey shirt with a black jacket, ripped blue pants, and whites shoes. He put the bag he had with him down as he went into the kitchen.

The girl stayed in her hiding spot for a few minutes. Realizing she wasn’t gonna be able to stay for too long, she went to find another place but a loading sound stopped her and she turned.

The guy was pointing a gun at her. He had a cold look on his face. “Who are you?” He asked, “Why are you here?”

The girl looked at him. “Please,” She begged softly, “I have nowhere else to go.”

The guy looked at her for a moment before putting the gun down, noting her clothes. “What happened to you?”

“I-I was running,” the girl told him, “There are people who want to catch me.”

“Why would that be?” The guy asked her.

“Because well...well I’m a vampire…” the girl replied to him trailing off. The guy was now really interested.

“A vampire eh?” The guy asked. He smirked. “I could make some big bucks turning you in.”

“No please!” The girl begged him as she got on her knees. She looked as if she was about to start sobbing, “They’ll kill me!”

“That’s the idea,” the guy said, coldly. “You vampires are scum. The last thing I need is to have one staying at my house.”

“Please!” The girl continued to beg, “Not all vampires are bad! I can show you that and plus my family, once they find me I can make sure they pay you even more than what those people from town will pay you.”

The guy raised an eyebrow, “Really now?”

The girl nodded. “Yes...please...help me…”

Tears started going down her face. The guy looked at her. He knew how much trouble he could get in for hiding a vampire in his house and he himself didn’t like them. But she did say there would be a lot of money involved and there was not much people that hunted vampires that he cared for much anyway. Even if she didn’t have the money, he could just turn her in. They wouldn’t believe her if she told them about him letting her stay so he decided to just go with it. “Fine.”

The girl looked at up him. “Really?”

The guy nodded. “Yes really.”

The girl got up and wiped the tears from her face. She looked at him. “Thanks. I’m Alice.”

“Burt,” the guy replied.

Alice smiled after Burt introduced himself. “That’s a nice name.”

“Sure, Whatever.” Burt replied, “So I guess you’ll need a place to sleep.”

Alice was about to nod but noticed her stomach grumbling. She looked up at Burt who noticed this. He wasn’t gonna let his meal ticket go hungry.

“You should get something to eat first,” Burt told her. He started walking to the kitchen, “Follow me.”

Alice followed Burt into the kitchen. She noticed that something smelled good. Burt had put some soup into a bowl and went and handed it to her. “Here.”

Alice took the bowl and took a bite of the soup. She smiled. “This is good! Did you make it yourself?”

Burt just looked at her and nodded without saying a word. Alice continued eating as he leaned against the counter with his arms crossed.

Alice looked around the kitchen. She saw a picture of Burt with another guy. The guy had brown hair and looked to be well built. She wondered who that guy could be for a few moments but figured it was just a friend. She couldn’t help but wonder though because Burt looked uninterested in the picture and the guy giving what looked to be a cocky grin.

Burt watched as the girl ate. He noticed her looking at the picture but paid no real mind to it. He felt tired as he had a long day of hunting monsters. He was able to make a few catches and earn himself some bucks. If he turned in this girl he knew he would make more but this girl promised him even more than that. He couldn’t pass up the chance for it. He looked at Alice again. “Done?”

The girl looked at him and nodded. She put the plate in the sink. She yawned as she was now tired. Burt took note of this and motioned for her to follow him and he walked up the stairs. Alice followed him up the stairs. Burt opened a door to a room that contained a bed, a dresser, a tv, a window, and a closet. Alice smiled as she walked in. It could use a little decorating but she liked it and she wouldn’t be here too long anyway. She turned to Burt

“Thank you,” Alice told him, “This really means a lot.”

“Sure,” Burt replied simply. Alice looked around the room again.

“This room is really nice,” she said.

“Glad you like it,” Burt said, “Goodnight.” He closed the door.

Alice made her way into the bed and laid on it. She looked up at the ceiling. She hoped she would be able to make it back to her family.
