The table stood by the right side of the room. There wasn't much else there, along with the table there bad and a small dresser. It was obviously a small bedroom just large enough for one person. The room was neatly keep, but certain objects lying around were what caught her attention. A note with crossed out lines, a book with a stripe of paper colored light blue making a page part of the way though. And a ring, lying right there on the table, as if left there after failing to find a home. As if it was being saved for someone who. It was gold in color, with not much else marking it. A band of gold waiting, waiting for its turn.
She recognized the ring. She knew what it had meant, how long it had been sitting there, collecting dust.
She wonders. What if I had noticed sooner? What if I had taken time to ask, time to talk, time to realize what it meant before it was too late.
She isn't even there at all. She wanders down paths in the dark and empty spaces, going back and finding new things each time. She is the ideas that connect worlds, that draw and write and discover.
She is the one who never learning enough at first, the one who has to go back to find those hidden things.
She is you.
