His shoulder throbbed, and the Beast felt hot blood matt his fur. Yet he ran as if nothing had happened to him, ignoring the pain and the seed of rage still inside him. Are you injured, my child? The almost mocking voice of his Maker strengthened his bloodlust. The only blood I feel from you is your own. The dark voice echoed through the Beast’s mind. Did you let them live?! The voice growled angrily. The Beast immediately stopped in one of the dark alleys of the city. Suddenly he felt anxious… His Maker was angry, again, and this time he had nowhere to run. He felt him... his presence, way too close to run. Now he could even hear the clicking of his claws… The same claws that had made the scar on his face, now hidden in the ebony fur.
The monster turned to face his Maker with his head held high, but the image before his eyes poured both fear and awe into his chest at the same time. He could do no more than watch as the huge white wolf, even more thickly built with muscle and fur than the Beast. His red demon-like eyes were highlighted by the fresh blood around his mouth with the very sharp fangs that were now bared at the Beast.
The ebony wolf couldn’t hold the searing gaze of the White Demon and lowered his eyes, bowing his head before him, practically clinging to the ground. That’s right puppy… You survived and now you are mine… The white wolf laughed happily and stood directly over the Beast. The Beast heard his heart pounding in his ears, and all his muscles were painfully tense, ready to attack. However, the Wolf Demon bent down and touched the Beast’s face with his snout. It's time to go hunting… He whispered mysteriously, and a familiar excitement swept through the Beast, now associated with bloodlust and the sweet smell of human blood around the Demon's mouth. The Beast rose proudly, facing the red eyes that suddenly shone with satisfaction. The White Demon was a few inches larger than the Beast, though the thick white coat probably gave the illusion of size.
After a moment of measuring each other, the White Demon turned without a word and in an elegant trot of a beast of the night, he led his companion into the streets of the city. The Beast obediently followed, the blood in his veins boiling. With each step, he felt his claws scraping the ground, longing to feel soft flesh beneath them. He didn't like the way they clicked so he pulled them in and crouched. The city was full of smells that mingled in the empty streets, the Beast could not separate one from the other. Likewise, it was with the sounds... The Beast did not know, where to find any prey, the White demon, however, was strutting with confidence, a true hunter on the trail of blood. The dark sky was covered with even thicker clouds, now hiding the dim light of the moon and stars. The all-day expected rain finally started, but only in small drops, which did not even pass through the fur of the two bloodthirsty wolves. Suddenly the dark laughter of two young men, perhaps boys, washed over the Beast’s ears, accompanied by a painful sigh of an elderly person.
At this point, the monster was already frustrated by both the hunger and anxiety. They were deep in the city… Almost in its center, avoiding all sources of light they managed to walk further into the city than the Beast was comfortable with. His paws were raw from the asphalt and he wished to feel the soft forest soil, and the wind seemed to be pulling him back to the forest. In return, the White Demon seemed bolder and more confident with each step, as if perhaps the huge buildings and metal cars reassured him.
Finally, they stopped, the white wolf looked around the corner of the building. The Beast could feel the thrill of the hunt and hungry hatred envelop his Maker. The fur of both wolves bristled, but not for the same reasons. What exactly was this demon planning for them…? The Beast smelled evil, already familiar, and felt the despair and pain of their victim. Although he could not see the scene around the corner, the smells and sounds gave him an accurate image. Two boys hitting an older man on the ground. When he took a deep breath, he was able to catch the scent of alcohol, probably flowing from the boys. The White Demon walked confidently around the corner, and the Beast followed him nervously. He was right… Two boys were kicking a homeless man on the ground, both obviously very drunk, their movements clumsy.
The White Demon growled wildly and lunged at the first of the boys. There was no joy of hunting, the only goal of the Demon was to kill. The Beast hesitated for a second, but the frightened screams of both boys quickly woke him. So he jumped after the second one, who was looking in shock at his companion, whom the White Demon had begun to tear to pieces. The Beast jumped on the boy's chest, digging his claws into his shoulder. Finally, he felt the warm flesh of the boy’s arm give under his fangs. Sweet blood filled his mouth, and the Beast devoured it so fast that he suffocated with the almost hot liquid. The boy's scream and desperate cries seemed to fill him with true Power. He held the life of this petty man in his jaws. He released his arm and looked into the boy's pale blue eyes. He hesitated. But the painful attempt of the old man lying on the ground to shout pushed the Beast’s hesitation away. He let his fangs sink into the boy's throat, which he crushed quickly and mercilessly in a deadly grip. The boy's heart gave one last heartbeat and his lungs blew out the last breath. The body twitched once more, then lay still.
There was silence - not so complete silence. The Beast heard the tearing of flesh as the Demon fed from the other dead boy. The black wolf did not participate in that… Instead, he turned to the old man, who was crying, curled into a ball of misery. The Beast approached him slowly and whimpered softly. The old man fell silent, as did the tearing of flesh in the background. In an instant, the White Demon appeared beside the Beast, watching the man on the ground. It's time… I promised you Power… Here you have it… The Demon sang in his ear in an enticing voice. The Beast froze, realizing what it was the Maker wanted of him. Nothing compares to the power of taking an innocent life… Kill him.
