Sebastian made his way over to me, and he rested his hands on my shoulders, looking really concerned and pissed at the same time. I didn't even realize I was crying until I tasted the bitter taste of tears.
Workers had stopped what they were doing to stare at the scene going on because everyone knew who the CEO was, but I was a different case. And much to my embarrassment, but it was very comforting as Sebastian drew me to him, securing his arms around me as he kept me pressed close to his chest.
"Manager Davis, what is the meaning of this?" Sebastian demanded, his Alpha pheromones spilling out.
I buried my face into his chest, desperately not trying to smell the pheromones that he was releasing because I could feel my body being pulled towards his, and it was drawing out the Omega in me. Sebastian smelled so good, and the Omega inside of me wanted to bare my neck to him. No Alpha has EVER made me want to do that, so that was pretty terrifying.
"Um, Ms. Winters asked something highly inappropriate and Mr. Havens told her off kind of." Eric explained, "honestly, it wasn't Mr. Haven's fault."
"What did Ms. Winters ask?" Sebastian growled, his chest rumbling.
"She asked if Mr. Havens had an Alpha." Eric murmured, sounding a little pised, "and then Mr. Havens told her off because it was disrespectful."
“Ms. Winters!” Sebastian yelled, making me tremble slightly; and he whispered softly to me, “I’m sorry, Levi. But she needs to be punished.”
“Don’t fire her.” I whispered back to him, still keeping my face buried in his chest, “just warn her. I don’t think she will cause any problems anymore.”
“Yes, Mr. Cambridge?” Ms. Winters murmured, her voice shaking with fear.
“Do you know how disrespectful it is to ask somebody if they have an Alpha?” Sebastian asked her, his voice cold and unrelenting, “Mr. Havens here is obviously unmarked, and because of this jealousy that I hear you have, you thought it was okay to attack him because he is an Omega and you see him as a threat? That does not fly here in this company, and I won’t tolerate it. Whether my father allowed y’all to be rude to a fellow co-worker just because he is an Omega or whatever they are, it’s not going to fly. You can spread this around the entire company. If you treat someone with disrespect, especially because of their second gender, you will be fired! Do I make myself clear?”
Clear answers rang through the hall, and I heard Ms. Winters shakily apologize and say she won’t act like that again. Sebastian didn’t answer her though as he turned and led me towards the elevator. Sebastian’s pheromones were making my body go wild, and it was so hard to suppress them.
But as I looked up at Sebastian, I saw how dark his eyes had gone but his jaw was set in a hard line. I realized then that my own pheromones were affecting him but he was keeping his hands to himself and keeping it under control. I ducked my head slightly, feeling a little pleased.
Maybe Sebastian is the ideal Alpha that I wouldn’t mind falling for…
As Sebastian and I were in the elevator, I slowly calmed down my nerves and decided it was okay to let go of Sebastian. I let my arms drop back to my sides, but for whatever reason, Sebastian did not let me go. His arms were securely around me, and he was slightly slouched down, his nose buried in my hair as he inhaled my scent, growling lowly.
"Sebastian." I whispered, lightly reaching up and patting his side, "I'm okay now. You can let me go."
"You were crying." Sebastian mumbled, gripping me a little tighter, "I didn't like to see you cry. I have this need to protect you so please, just give me a moment."
"Okay," I replied, putting my arms back around him.
I kept my head resting on his chest, and I inhaled his scent greedily. Sebastian smells wonderful, kind of like vanilla with a hint of sandalwood. The Omega inside of me wanted to be greedy, to think that this Alpha would want to claim me as his own.
The way Sebastian put his arms around me, it made me feel exactly that. Does Sebastian feel this weird connection as well? I mean, it can’t be just me. And it wouldn’t make sense since he acted very protective of me. No normal CEO would do what Sebastian did. So this Alpha, well, he felt something towards me, whether it was him or his Alpha instincts.
The elevator came to a halt with a ding and the doors opened. I heard shocked gasps and I jumped slightly, trying to push Sebastian away but he held me tighter and growled out a warning to whoever it was. I craned my neck around and saw it was Mr. Walker and Mr. Wallace.
Their eyes were wide with surprise.
“Um, Sebastian, what is going on?” Mr. Walker asked curiously, looking between me and Sebastian, but was more so on Sebastian whose nose was still buried in my hair.
“Go away!” Sebastian grumbled.
“Um, you are in the elevator.” Mr. Wallace explained, “I highly think that you should get out of there before other employees see what’s going on. I don’t think they would appreciate you giving favoritism to your lover.”
My face flamed red, and I stumbled out, “no, we aren’t lovers. His Alpha instincts were going haywire so he’s calming himself down. He’s an unmated Alpha, it's easiest for an Omega to calm him down.”
Mr. Walker raised an eyebrow suspiciously, “so you're taking advantage of the situation?”
My heart pounded with fear, “no! I would never do that!”
“Leave him alone, Evan!” Sebastian snarled, canines extended as he finally lifted his head to glare at him, eyes blazing, “Levi is more important than any Omega, and I’m the one who came onto him, not the other way around. Just cause he is an Omega, it doesn’t mean he’s taking advantage of me.”
“Sebastian, I think you should let me go,” I whispered.
“AND you're on a first-name basis?” Mr. Walker questioned, a slight smirk on his face, “that doesn’t seem like a normal, professional relationship.”
