Sebastian Cambridge
After the bathroom incident, I knew there was something wrong with Levi.
He was jittery, and every time I brushed against him, he would jump back away from me, and tremble. Levi was just fine earlier, so I don’t know what has him so shaky right now. Did he change his mind about trying with me?
No, I don’t think that’s the case.
Did Evan say something dumb to Levi? I don’t know what Evan could say to Levi though because Evan knows I am the one pursuing Levi, not the other way around. Or maybe it’s mutual, but I sure initiated it.
So when Levi walked into my office, finishing the last bits of work for the day, I cornered him against my desk, making him sit down on my desk as I placed one hand on either side of him, effectively caging him in. I felt myself twitch when he bit nervously on his pretty pink bottom lip and gazed up at me nervously with his beautiful gold eyes. I kept my control under control though and looked at him sternly.
“Okay, Levi, what’s going on?” I demanded, tilting my head to the side, “you were just fine earlier so I have no clue what it is.”
Levi avoided my eyes, “it’s nothing.”
“Bullshit.” I growled, “tell me what’s going on.”
Levi trembled, face going red as he bowed his head, “I don’t want to cause any problems.”
“If something happened, I need to know.” I whispered gently, seeing the tears in his eyes, “come on, baby, tell me what’s going on. I can’t help you if you don’t tell me.”
Levi inhaled deeply, and finally came clean, “I’m pretty sure Evan threatened me.”
I froze, not believing my ears, “what?”
“It was when you left the bathroom. He basically said we were not going to last, so I needed to give up on you or he was going to make me.” Levi explained, voice shaking, “I swear I’m not lying. I don’t see what I did to him at all.”
My hands balled into fists, and I fought the rage that wanted to explode inside of me, “I’ll deal with him, you don’t have to worry about that.”
“Do you know why he’s being like that to me?” Levi asked curiously.
"I have an idea." I muttered, running a hand through my hair in irritation, "I'll handle him, Levi. I won't tolerate this bullshit coming from him. He knows better than to treat you like this, especially since he knows that you and I are trying to become something more. It's like he's asking for trouble."
"Well, maybe I can talk to him?" Levi said softly, "it seems whatever his deal is, it's with me."
"Evan is just too protective." I admitted, sighing as I rested my hands on Levi's waist, inhaling his intoxicating scent, "he's been like this ever since we were younger. I think it got worse though after I told him what had happened with my dad and his want for me to mate an Omega of his choosing. But I think we just need to show Evan that it's not like that, and he doesn't have anything to worry about."
With Levi's permission, I got on the phone and called for Evan and Taylor to meet me in my office. I moved away from Levi and sat down in my chair while he went and sat in the chair I had placed close to me when he needed to talk to me for a long time about work, and it would allow him to be off of his feet.
Levi nervously fiddled with his hands, and I couldn't help but admire him. Though Levi is an Omega, and he is a strong one, I knew he had this weak side that he didn't like others to see. It made me happy that without realizing he was doing it, he was showing his weaker side to me. I want to be his Alpha, and though he can handle himself, I want to be there to protect him. To keep him safe. Even if that means I have to deal with my overprotective friends.
Taylor and Evan walked into the office, and it looked like Taylor had some idea of what this was about, as he kept shooting Evan a disappointed look. Evan's eyes were locked on Levi, and he did not look pleased at all. I could feel my anger rise as Levi slightly shrunk back, but it awed me when he jerked his chin up and met Evan's gaze defiantly. As soon as they sat down, I got straight to business.
"So, Evan, Levi told me about what you said to him in the bathroom." I murmured, praying that he did not say anything stupid, cause I couldn't promise that my temper wouldn't spike, "so I want to know why you thought it was okay to approach him like that, whether or not I had taken an interest in him. Just cause he is an Omega, that doesn't mean he will abuse his power, and act unprofessionally. Cause I recall, almost every time that it was unprofessional was because of ME. So what gave you the right to treat him that way?"
"I don't trust him." Evan grumbled, eyes dark with anger, "all Omegas who do approach you, Sebastian, only want you for your title. I don't buy his 'I really didn't know who you were' act. Everybody knows who you are, so I want to know why he lied."
"But I didn't lie!" Levi snapped, hands balled into fists, "I was hired to be the secretary for the FORMER CEO. I met Sebastian last night, we talked and I gave advice, but I didn't know it was him. I didn't even know the CEO of this company had passed away until me and Manager Davis walked into Sebastian's office and I saw it was him. You don't even know me, and yet you judge me like I'm some bad guy. I can't help that I'm drawn to Sebastian but if Sebastian didn't feel the same, I wouldn't have approached him either way because for one, this is work, and two, I do know that we have different social statuses. So please stop acting like you know who I am and let me prove to you and Taylor that all my intentions are pure. I at least deserve that!"
Evan looked away, and I know I saw the guilt cross his face, before he sighed in annoyance, "fine. I must admit you are right no matter how I feel about this. But I tell you this now, you screw Sebastian over in any way, I'll make sure you are out of here in a flash."
And then Evan jumped to his feet and stormed out, steam practically blowing out his ears. Taylor rose, nodded his head to Levi before he turned, and walked out, no doubt going to go find the irrational Evan before he did something he was going to regret. But to me, the only thing that mattered was that Levi was treated with the respect that he deserved…
Because he has not done anything for that to be questioned otherwise.
