I quickly stood up and started banging on the door and screaming for him to let me out.
Of course, that didn’t work at all.
I ran up to the window, the only view I had was of the forest, so quickly retracing my steps I deduced that this room was located on the back side of the building.
Luckily the window didn’t have metal bars and could be opened, but I was on the third floor, and there was no safe way down.
With no apparent way out I fell back on the mattress to calm down.
“Great, just great! Those agents will probably do experiments on me, and I got locked up and served for them on a frickin platter!”
I was fuming, I knew my parents told me not to trust strangers but I did it anyway.
With that over, I stood up again and continued inspecting the room.
I looked all over the floor ceiling and walls, but there was nothing of use, the only escape options I had were either to try and make a run for it when Dave was going to bring food or to risk it and go through the window.
My build was quite large, but I didn’t want to risk being shot, so that option was out, and that left me with the window, I could squeeze out the mattress and then jump on it.
With that decided I started picking up the mattress, but just as I was doing it there was a loud rumble coming from my stomach.
It was already past noon, and I hadn’t eaten a thing, and chances of trying to find food while on the run weren’t in my favor, so with conflicting emotions - I decided to wait it out till Dave will bring food, plus It would be easier for me to run with the cover of darkness.
Now with a plan in mind, I closed the window so Dave won’t notice it, and layed down on the mattress again, and because I was plenty tired because of my allnighter I fell asleep, only to wake up from the loud sound coming from the doorway.
When I opened my eyes the room was already really dark, and when I looked in the direction of the door there was a bowl of cereal without milk with a spoon sticking out of it, also beside it layed a yellow sticky note that simply read ‘Im sorry’.
I looked at it for a second before swatting it aside in anger.
Then I slowly ate the cereal and then put the bowl beside the wall.
With my stomach calmed down, I finally put my plan in motion.
I opened the window and looked around, with no one in sight I picked up the mattress and pushed it out the window.
Now came the scary part, at least for me.
Never in my life had I broken a bone, and at that moment it wouldn’t help me in the slightest if I was trying to run away with a broken leg or something, but thinking of what they may do to me if I won’t get away blew all my fears away.
And so as I was sitting on the window frame - I pushed away, and moments later I was falling down, quickly remembering my brother's advice I prepared to roll.
I landed on the edge of the mattress and rolled for a moment, and when I finally stopped I stood up and dusted myself off, and looked back.
When I saw from what height I just jumped off I was partly scared and amazed for myself, but there wasn’t a moment for me to waste.
I turned back to the forest and went into a sprint, jumping over mossy trunks and maneuvering myself between branches of the trees.
I don’t remember for how long I ran, but it was far enough for the town lights to no longer be visible.
And as I decided to stop and catch my breath I started hearing someone calling out my name.
