So… yet again I was transported against my will.
Noticing the nearest tree - I scrambled to and hid behind it, after which I spent the next few minutes taking short nervous breaths, in between which I peeked behind the tree to see if those robes would appear.
When at least fifteen minutes passed and I was sure there was no one in sight - I started breathing more calmly while holding my hands together so they could stop shaking.
And while I was sitting there - my mind for some reason decided to play back the scene of the agents getting their hands chopped off.
It didn’t help… It didn’t help at all.
Remembering the look of the open muscle and bone with the blood spewing with every movement only helped me with evacuating what was left of the cereal from my stomach.
With a burning sensation of acid left in my mouth, I wiped my lips and shakily stood up to finally take a look around me.
Sadly there was nothing else to see besides the trees.
I started thinking of what to do next, but sadly I couldn’t come up with anything better than just to pick a direction and start walking… again.
The last time I was walking so much was way back when my family had a trip to the mountains, sucked then too.
Speaking of mountains - as an hour or so of walking passed by, the trees around me started to thin out, giving me a great view of a mountain range in the distance, with the chilly wind passing me by.
As I was walking this entire time I had a daunting feeling that something was wrong, but this finally confirmed it - the moon was crescent when it was supposed to be full, stars were in the wrong places, and now this mountain range that was piercing the clouds.
I wasn’t on earth anymore, well at least not on my earth.
There were undertones of fear creeping in on me, but mostly it was annoyance and anger.
I never asked for all of this - by now I was supposed to be back home, sitting with my brother and mother in the living room and watching some crime drama while munching on popcorn.
Thinking about popcorn has awakened the beast in my belly - which produced a loud audible growl, in reaction to which I patted it like I was trying to show my solidarity.
But instead of stopping - I started hearing more growls, but those weren’t coming from me.
I turned in the direction of the sound, and standing there were three gaunt wolves, with their ribcages almost trying to pierce out from underneath their hide.
At the sight of them, I instinctively glanced around me for something that I could use as a weapon, and noticing a hefty broken-off stick from the nearby tree - I quickly darted to it.
And as you would expect the wolves started running after me, while yes I was slightly faster and managed to take the stick, one of the wolves pounced on me while I was picking it up - causing me and the wolf to tumble down the hill.
When we finally reached the bottom - I jumped to my feet and prepared to fight.
The fight didn’t take long to start, while the other two wolves were running down the hill - I was already swinging the stick at the wolf near me, that bastard was fast despite him being so malnourished, I did manage to hit it a good few times as well as he managed to put a few scratches to my arms with its front paws, but before I could do any more damage the other wolves finally appeared.
The first one to run down the hill tried to jump on top of me, and me thinking that it was my best choice - managed to throw him right over my head.
As I did that - the other two wolves ran in to have a taste of me, with one biting me on my right arm, while the other bit my left leg.
Because of the sudden pain - I dropped my weapon to the ground, but those bags of fur underestimated my desire to live!
I turned towards the wolf that was gnawing on my arm, I tugged him closer and kicked him with a knee of my right leg, with an audible crack and the ever-increasing smell of blood in the air - the wolf let go of my arm and limply fell to the ground while giving off a weak whimper.
With both of my arms free… Please promise me you won’t laugh at what I'm going to say next… Alright, thank you.
As I was saying, with both of my arms now free - I took the other wolf's jaw and opened it, after which I kicked it away from me, but as I did that - the wolf that I threw over me earlier, jumped on me from behind - causing me to fall over face first into the ground.
With it standing on top of me, I tried to roll over, but what happened to the wolf because of it… it was gruesome.
I crushed it under me while I was rolling… I admit that I was slightly overweight, but that was ridiculous!
So, with a wolf giving off his final howl under me - the remaining one jumped on top of me, scratching at my stomach with its claws, while my hands were occupied with its head - preventing it from biting me.
When I finally kicked it off, I stumbled back on my feet, I was dripping blood from every wound, and this time I decided to take initiative - running with the remaining strength in my legs I tackled the wolf, after which I took hold of its neck.
It didn't take much force, the loud snap finally announced the end of this encounter.
Yet again stumbling to my feet I looked around me, with two lifeless wolves laying on the ground, with only one still alive, laying on the ground motionless like the other two, but alive.
