A new morning had started, the birds chirped as they conversed with each other landing on the railing of a patio. The usual cutting sounds were heard of Blade gardening. The closed doors of the patio kept the noise out of the room it was attached to.
Inside the room, an individual, wearing satin pajamas sat on his huge bed in a meditative pose closing his eyes.
[Your Mana has increased by 0.1]
Han has been trying to raise his mana to Rank E for a few days now, but it never increased past the threshold. It showed 9.9 Mana on his status but there were no results. After 30 minutes, he flung open his eyes frustrated.
“Why isn’t it increasing? Sophie, am I doing something wrong. It feels like I'm hitting a wall and can't get through it. I’ve been going at it for days now”, said Han scrambling his brown hair frustrated. He clicked his tongue annoyed, just thinking of his meditation being useless.
[Host, I recommend you try some exercises instead of only meditating such as making small objects float. Even if you can't make it float it doesn't matter just focus on breaking through the wall. It will help you break through the threshold]
“I can try that, but not now. I have morning patients scheduled today…I’ll start with trying to float a pencil today at night”, Han said casually as he stood up and entered the bathroom to freshen up.
Meanwhile, outside the Clinic, Gen and Blade who arrived to enter the clinic opened their mouths agape shocked at the sight.
They saw people standing and waiting in line right outside the front door. Some even had food with them as if they were waiting there all night. Those who were sitting on the ground stood up noticing the workers of the clinic arrive. Some even bowed toward them.
Gen didn't even know where the line ended or how many people were standing in it...was it indefinite? She knew the ‘Payment Plan’, would make the clinic a bit more popular but she certainly didn’t expect this outcome. Were so many people in need? Just the thought of people being sick and not getting treated made her shiver. When she saw a parent bowing towards her, she blushed, feeling a sense of pride just for working here.
Blade stoically poked Gen’s arm which was beside him.
Gen turned to look at him and raised her eyebrows looking at him questionably. “Are we supposed to let this many people inside? It’s not going to fit. They have to enter one by one”, Blade whispered in her ears.
Whatever Blade was whispering in her ear, she didn’t comprehend any of it as she was daydreaming feeling his breath against her.
The people waiting in the line also whispered amongst themselves thinking the duo was a couple. At this point, Gen’s face was bright red like a tomato. Though her blue hair stood out more in comparison.
“Are you ok? Your face is red, do you have a fever, I can call Physician Han”, said Blade concerned noticing her red face. Gen bit her bottom lip and shook her head. “Ok…but don’t push yourself too much. I’ll be opening the door now”, he said as he approached the doorknob.
‘Get yourself together! Gen, you can’t falter just by him being near you. He’s way too young, and he’s not even that handsome…’, Gen thought as his sparkling face flashed in her mind. His soft lips, sharp nose, silky hair, and mainly the innocence his face held just make her want to squeeze him.
Hearing the sounds of people rushing into the clinic snapped her out of her daydream. She sighed shaking her head and entered the clinic. She saw all of the seats full in the lobby, it was a new sight for her. She stretched her arms ready to converse with random people, ‘looks like the next 5 months will be booked with appointments’, thought Gen as she tackled the first person in line.
A Few people remained outside the clinic lined up waiting for a seat to be empty. Even the citizens of Siron City didn’t expect so many people to be coming to the clinic. Neighbors recognized each other in the crowd. Some individuals even hid this place from their relatives thinking they didn’t deserve to know.
The boy who was the last person in the line smiled brightly seeing another person join the line behind him. It made him feel better not being the last anymore, unfortunately, he chose the wrong person to smile at. The fat man who had his jaw clenched behind him hit the boy’s head with his heavy hand making him cry. The boy ran off hopefully back home.
Ceredic with his jiggly belly arrived at the clinic and was about to start phase 2 of his plan since everything was set up last night. His werewolf slave had tagged along with him, Asora was the werewolf’s name, he was the only one who didn’t lose hope yet. Even though every day was torturous for him serving the bastard, he still went along with it. He simply had no choice.
Especially today, Ceredic made Asora bring a few piglets with him and beat them to the verge of death. Tears dropped to the ground as he was beating the tiny piglets, they whimpered and shifted their bodies trying to escape each time he punched their tiny bodies...He didn’t feel like a werewolf anymore.
With puffy eyes, Asora held 5 barely breathing piglets in his arms. ‘They’re going to die anytime now. What should I do?’, he thought anxiously pressing them against his chest. The piglets remained unmoving in his arms as if they were dolls.
“Your time has come, this popularity won’t last for long”, said the chubby raccoon as he glanced at the luxuriousness of the clinic and how long the line was. He gritted his teeth jealous but calmed down remembering their purpose. He wondered how the famous physician will be able to deal with this. His plan had no holes and if this physician is a human then he will fail and ruin his reputation.
'After dealing with this no-name I will become the right hand of Duke Gage and fight alongside him. I will show my father just how much better I am. This physician is just a low life shouldn't be hard to get rid of him and this is the perfect situation to let the Duke know what I can do. He will come begging to ask me to work for him after he sees how I ruin the clinic's image', he thought snickering. It was the right time to prove everything.
