(KLEIN'S POV)
It's been 3 long years since my brother was gone to that high school. He never sent a mail, text message or call back at home, but I fully understood why he didn't, and I wasn't mad at his actions in the slightest bit.
After all, I was on a bus headed to that school. "Protege De Arts" is a school renowned for the best fencers being produced there. What's funny was that I was the only person on this bus heading to that school. It must have been because all of the upper-class new students would be on their jets, planes, limousine whatever it may be arriving at that school, they would be looking down on people like me.
Commoners.
The bus took a random stop on the street, as the bus driver opened the doors, I was curious at first as to why he did that, but a lone single girl stepped foot onto the bus, she had blond hair that was shoulder length and those blue eyes of hers were dangerous. She looked like those types of girls who were so full of themselves.
I did my best to look like I was distracted by my phone minding my own business, but it appeared that my business was meaningless to her.
"Excuse me is this spot taken?" She asked me.
What kind of stupid question was that? There was space everywhere. I looked up from my phone, looking straight into her blue eyes, I must admit she was very pretty but that wouldn't stop me from doing something that I thought was funny. I exaggerated my look to the left and my right.
"Sorry, this seat is taken." I sarcastically said.
"Oh. . . sorry then I'll be on my way then." She sighed as she made her way to the back of the bus, but I caught her hand in time, which was kind of unexpected for me to even do. She looked back at me with a weird look.
"I thought this seat was taken." She said.
I sighed as I had to reveal the big truth of it all.
"I was joking, surprise!" I dazzled my hand in the air, she did not look amused in the slightest. "You can sit here if you want. . . I mean it." I gave out a classic smile, as she took a deep breath in, sweeping the seat next to me before sitting on it.
The tension between us two was defiantly noticeable, hell if this awkward tension continued I rather die than be on the bus here with her. I guess it was time to be the bigger man here in this situation.
I cleared my throat loud enough that she gave me a slight glance to me.
"Look I think we got on the wrong foot. . . my name is Klein, Klein Reus. Yours is? If you could be so kind tell me your name." I offered my hand out to her.
She looked at me for a second as she slowly reach out to my hand, accepting my handshake at first I thought everything was going on the right track, but suddenly I started to feel pain in my hand.
"Hey! I think you're gripping my hand a bit too much!" I whined trying to escape her grasp.
"Really? I'm just shaking your hand, aren't I? It shouldn't hurt that much am I right?" She sarcastically said, increasing the grip even more. God this woman had some crazy grip strength, it felt as though she was going to crush my hand.
"This is assault I tell you! Assault! Bus driver, are you just going to just let this happen?" I continued whining as the bus driver look at the reflection in his mirror shrugging his shoulder and looking at the road.
"Gosh! I'm sorry! I'm sorry I was being such a jerk!"
The pain instantly went away, as I slowly opened my eyes to see the cute girl chuckling at me.
"What's so funny, that's making you laugh like that, you vile woman!"
"Vile woman? That's a bit harsh but what I'm laughing about is how much of a childish person you are, you can't even handle this grip of an innocent girl like me." She finished saying.
"Innocent my ass." I scoffed as she reached out for my hand again. "I was joking again! A joke. Could you at least tell me your name now, to pay respect to my injured hand?" I shoved my hand in front of her face.
"You still don't deserve it but for that fallen hand of yours the name is Emma, Emma Fenz it's nice to meet you." She offered her hand out to me, which I was defiantly suspicious about.
"I promise I won't do anything like that, just a normal handshake from two people."
I accepted as there was no putting pressure on someone's hand, this was what it meant to have a proper handshake.
"I've been wanting to say this but it seems like you're going to the same school as me right, Protege De Arts? I mean, after all, you're wearing the same uniform as me." She asked me curiously.
"That's correct, you're so smart for figuring that out well done." I clapped, as Emma rolled her eyes at me.
"Shut up, but anyways I just wanted to say that means you must be pretty good at fencing yourself, but I mean you certainly don't look like you're any good at it." Emma teased you.
"What's that supposed to mean? I wouldn't say I'm good but I can handle myself." I said confidently.
"Then how did you get selected into this school. . . I can't believe that the top school that produces the best fencers in the world decided to pick a person who doesn't even know his abilities." She sighed deeply.
Wow, that was really mean, but I decided to let it slide this time after all the mean comments I had attacked her with before.
"Well, I guess I got lucky then am I right?"
"Luck has nothing to do with fencing, when it comes to this school it's all about talent and skill, and what comes with that is a bunch of rich, posh, dirty snobs who think too much of themselves."
Hang on a minute here, was she just like me?
"Wait? You're saying that you're not one of those rich, posh, dirty snobs who think too much of themselves."
"That's correct, you're so smart for figuring that out well done. . . no shit! I'm not one of them, you really think that a rich person would want to be on a bus with a person like you, please." Emma scoffed at the idea.
"Hey! What's so bad about me?"
She looked you dead in the eye as if she had heard the most stupidest thing known to man.
I decided to keep my mouth shut.
The bus after travelling to the school had finally arrived at its destination, opening the door.
I stood up from my seat going to the door.
"Ladies first," I smirked at Emma.
"Gosh, I want to get out of here as quickly as possible so I don't have to see your face anymore." She sighed as she stepped outside of the bus, as did I.
The first thing we saw was how tall the school was. The entrance of the door had to be at least 10 meters.
"Wow, this school is really huge," I said
"You can say that again."
"Wow, this school is really huge," I said once more, as I got a slap on the head, which I deserved I guess, but it was still assault though.
VROOM!
A limousine had just arrived at the school and it appeared a chauffeur had opened the passenger door. And there two individuals had stepped foot outside of the limousine. A boy who was not wearing the school uniform but instead a full decked out suit and a grogeous girl who was wearing a beautiful dress that touched the floor. It matched her brown silky long hair. Though the dress was a bit over the top if I do say so myself.
The boy was carrying a duffel bag as he walked up to the two of us staring us dead in the eyes, as he soon began to give me the stink eye specifically. He dropped his duffel bag to my feet staring straight at me still.
"Pick it up, commoner." He said
"Commoner who are you call-"
I immediately cover Emma's mouth looking at her with a serious look, it seems as though she got the message and didn't fight back. Thank god this feisty woman didn't bark back.
I went down to reach it as I had the bag in my possession.
GUH!
The guy had kneed me in the chest Emma immediately went up to help me back up as I dropped the duffel bag but I made sure to give her a look saying that everything would be alright.
"I said pick it up, commoner."
I once again went in to grab his bag but thankfully this time he didn't do anything as I gave his bag back, or so I thought that would be it.
BLUH!
A sweet right hook had landed on my eye perfectly, and the impact of his hit, caused a bleeding cut on my face. I coughed out salvia in response to the hit.
Emma looked pissed off.
"Hey what the fuck do you think you-"
The guy pushed Emma down to the ground it wasn't much to hurt her, but she did feel the impact of it all.
The guy started laughing at both of us as he picked out a coin in his pocket tossing it at us.
"Here's for your service you low levelled dogs. . . Come on Christa let's go before we get infected by these pathetic commoners." The boy kicked me once more while I was struggling to get back up, as he walked off into the distance laughing maniacally.
"Are you okay?" Emma asked coherently, as I looked back at her pointing to my cut.
"Yeah, yeah it's totally fine it's not like I got hit IN THE FACE!" I shouted the last part to make sure how dumb Emma sound as she face palm realising how dumb that question was.
We had been talking to one another to the point that we had forgotten that the sister was still there hearing the conversation as she walked closer to us.
"Don't tell me you're going to slap me in my face." I jokingly said.
"Here. Take it. Looks like you need it." She had just taken out from her bougie handbag a tissue offering it to you. At first, I was a bit suspicious of taking the tissue, as she walked away from the scene.
I touched the tissue and God it felt rich, everything at the school felt reach.
"Here let me place the tissue on your cut. . . Wow, this tissue feels really rich." Emma placed the tissue on my cut as she let go of it, letting me hold on to the tissue on my wound.
"What does rich even mean? And when's the opening ceremony" I asked her.
"I don't know, rich just means rich and the opening ceremony." She checked the time on her watch, and as her eyes widened it shocked.
"We're late! It's all because of you! This is the first day and we're already late."
"Me?! How is it because of me? I'm the one who got beat up here!"
"Exactly! That's the whole reason why we're late. Come on let's go!" Emma used her ferocious woman strength to get me back up, which somewhat shocked me.
"Emma there's no point."
She whipped her head to look back at me.
"What do you mean there's no point?"
"What I mean is we're late, so what's the point of running 1 minute late or 20 minutes late, we're still going to be late so let's just walk it. It's not like the opening ceremony is going to end by the time we make it anyways."
"I can't believe that stupid logic of yours actually makes sense fine then let's do it your way then."
I nodded my head as we both took our time to the opening ceremony.
I mean they wouldn't care because after all you needed was. . .
Skill.
