At night, Yang Liu picks up Han Wei from school, her style completely transformed, drawing the attention of all the parents waiting to collect their children. She arrives, retrieves Han Wei from his classroom, and heads to the car to go to her parents' house.
Yang Liu notices the car is surprisingly quiet. She glances over and sees Han Wei looking at her in astonishment since they left the school. She laughs and asks, "Do I look beautiful?"
Han Wei involuntarily nods in agreement, then quickly realizes what he’s done and lowers his head in embarrassment.
Yang Liu bursts into laughter and pats his head, saying, "Good boy."
Thirty minutes later, they arrive in a residential neighborhood, and the driver stops the car. He turns around and informs her, "Madam, we have arrived."
As she steps out of the car, holding Han Wei's hand, she rings the doorbell of the residence. A well-dressed middle-aged woman opens the door and peers outside.
When she sees her daughter, she rushes over, exclaiming, "Yang Liu, I've missed you! It’s been a month since I last saw you."
Mrs. Yan Mei hugs her daughter tightly, and Yang Liu is startled by this physical contact; after all, in her past life, she was an orphan.
For the first time, Yang Liu feels warmth in her heart, though she can’t quite understand why.
Mrs. Yan Mei notices the boy holding her daughter's hand and says, "You must be Han Wei, right?"
Han Wei shyly confirms, and Mrs. Yan immediately picks him up, smiling, "I am your grandmother." She leads her grandson and daughter inside, saying, "Let’s go inside; it’s very cold out here."
As they enter her parents' house, Yang Liu spots a man in a wheelchair. She is startled, recognizing him instantly, "Father."
The middle-aged man smiles at this and says, "Daughter, you should come home more often." He sees Han Wei with his wife and opens his arms, "Hello, Han Wei, I am your grandfather."
Han Wei feels shy but musters the courage to run and hug his new grandfather.
Han Wei thinks, "I've never had grandparents like this before; they are so loving. I hope this hug lasts longer."
Yang Liu is taken aback, everything feels so familiar, even though she has never experienced any of this before.
Hours later, Yang Liu learns three things: First, the original Yang Liu's parents are good people; second, it has been a month since she last came home; and third, it had been exactly a month since her father had an accident. She scratches her head in thought, feeling worried; this seems like something she should discuss with Han Chen later.
Suddenly, the doorbell rings.
Yang Liu sees her parents playing with Han Wei and goes to answer the door. When she opens it, she is startled to see Han Chen. She asks, "Weren't you working?"
At the same time, Han Chen is surprised by Yang Liu's transformed appearance and thinks, "Is this really Yang Liu?"
Yang Liu ends up in a novel as the stepmother of the third male lead. The character is briefly mentioned at the start and end when she marries and divorces the male lead's father.
Yang Liu is strong and funny, just wants to enjoy life and spend money. She plans to live freely, embracing her new role.
The male lead’s father is thirty-five years old this year—mature, wealthy, and refined—but he has never been in love before.
Yang Liu doesn't want to be forced to work anymore. So, if that means having a son and a husband along with it, she’s fine with it. She plans to do whatever she wants.
