Before we started, we returned to the lodge to retrieve our flashlights. The game commenced thereafter. Initially, nothing seemed amiss. Alex, Leo, and Aiden returned safely with their bowls. Finally, it was Alice's turn. She ventured into the woods. As time elapsed, she failed to return. Our concern grew, and we began to panic. The situation was becoming increasingly perilous. We organized ourselves into groups of three to search for her. I, Leo, and Oliver formed the first group, followed by Alex, Aibel, and Aiden. We agreed to regroup at the same spot after an hour if we were unsuccessful.
An hour felt like an eternity. There was no sign of Alice anywhere. The situation was becoming increasingly dangerous. We could hear the eerie howls of wolves echoing from all directions. As the night deepened, strange noises began to emanate from the direction we were heading. The creaking and cracking of branches sounded like whispers, and I began to feel an ominous presence around us. Suddenly, I turned around and saw a shadowy figure lurking behind us. I let out a startled scream. Startled, Leo inquired about the commotion. In a state of fright, I pointed towards a tree.
There was no one there. Half-crying, I urged them to turn around. Oliver attempted to calm me down. Ultimately, we had to return to the designated regrouping point.
