The moment we all entered the mansion, the entrance door locked behind us. Aiden and Abel rushed towards it, the clattering of the door echoing loudly through the hallway.

"Damn it! Looks like someone locked the entrance," Aiden muttered.

"Looks like we're spending the night here," Abel said. "Let's leave first thing in the morning and contact the nearest town's police station. Let's hope Alice is safe and sound," he added.

The mansion's interior was extremely dusty, littered with broken furniture. The floorboards creaked ominously beneath our feet, and a broken chandelier hung precariously from the ceiling, its shattered glass a haven for spiders. The howling of wolves outside added to the eerie atmosphere.

As we ascended to the second floor, a chill ran down my spine, a familiar sensation from our search for Alice. Turning around, I saw a shadowy figure flickering in the corner. My blood turned to ice.

Abel, too, seemed to see it, his expression a mix of disbelief and fear. We couldn't comprehend what was before us.

Aiden shook us, snapping us out of our trance. "Hey, you guys alright?" he asked.

"Look!" I stammered, pointing towards the figure. My voice barely a whisper.

Everyone turned, but the entity had vanished.

"You okay, Oliver?" Aiden asked. "Here, drink some water. You both look exhausted and confused from recent events."

"B-but... but..." I stuttered, glancing at Abel.

He shook his head, a silent acknowledgment of the unbelievable.
