I hope this all makes sense, because yeah, it is kinda important worldbuilding.
Direct effects from elemental magic will not touch a demon. It in fact, completely deteriorates on contact. Any element. Any demon. No exceptions. This includes whether the magic is used for battle, for healing, or even for basic utility. As I've explained in passing a few chapters ago, demons can't use stamps either; they simply won't activate. (Hence why Belial needs candles to light her room, rather than a lamp like everyone else.)

But while direct magic doesn't work, indirect magic can. Even if the magic effects can't touch the demon, it can touch objects (and other people) and move (or propel) those things into the demon.
What makes Nara so scary is that not only is she magically strong, but she's immune to demonic intimidation and capable of careful foresight... and deferring her true attack for the benefit of the class (and perhaps to ensure the demon is distracted) :D
Follows the strange story of Chiaki, a daydreaming otaku who longs to confess her feelings to her childhood friend, Fumiko, and how that's made especially difficult when she gets transported to another world...
