Outside the unfinished house, a car pulled into the rough driveway, its headlights cutting through the heavy rain that streaked from the sky, momentarily illuminating the torrent.
The glare of the headlights flooded the interior of the raw structure till they suddenly went off, then the click of a car door opening and shutting. Hyun-woo quickly stood, placing himself instinctively between the door and Seo-jin, who was still sitting on the dust sheets on the floor.
The door to the unfinished house slowly opened, and a wet, but smiling, Eun-sol entered, rain dripping from her hair. Seo-jin instinctively tucked her legs beneath her slightly, a pointless attempt to hide herself from Eun-sol's view.
Eun-sol saw Hyun-woo standing there, and her smile widened, a playful glint in her eyes. "But of course you’re here! Someone has to keep the place from falling apart in this weather."
Her gaze then shifted, noticing the figure partially obscured behind Hyun-woo. Seo-jin craned her neck slightly from behind him, sheepish as if to see who had entered.
"And you’re not flying solo either, huh?" Eun-sol teased, her eyes sparkling as she looked from Hyun-woo to Seo-jin.
"The storm caught us off guard," Seo-jin offered, her voice a little too quick, a little too defensive.
Eun-sol stepped forward, a wide smile plastered on her face, and lightly slapped the side of Hyun-woo’s shoulder. "You two really DO know each other, then, eh?" Her eyes, full of knowing amusement, flicked between them, a silent question hanging in the damp air.
