‎"No nah uh,I have really worked my ass off Cas, I'm really tired" I stated, not giving her room for persuasion.

‎"I know and do you think I haven't exhausted myself? "

‎"I have never been tired like this..."

‎"in my whole life. I know" I cut her off and finished her sentence for her. This was her mantra when asking for my help. She looked embarrassed when I did that. Yet as shameful as she was , she came and hugged me and switched to her baby and cute personality.

‎"Pretty please,I'm really tired. Can't you spare this tired princess and redeem her of her burdens?" She muttered and gazed at me with those big eyes of hers and blinked them like what they did in cartoons.

‎

‎"You caring for patients and getting paid isn't a burden. " I retorted.

‎

‎"Oh come on don't spoil the mood" She retracted herself from me and looked vexed but in a cute way. After all,she needed my help.

‎"And what are you going to do ? "I asked and she blushed.

‎

‎"Well I was hoping you would ask. Branson and I are going on a date tonight and I have to look my all" She said with her child like enthusiasm which made me excited.

‎

‎Finally some hot gist. "Really,what happened? Are you the one who requested it? " I asked with eagerness established in my voice.

‎

‎"Look who is suddenly interested in my love life" she exclaimed sarcastically and I lowered my head in feigned embarrassment.

‎I had to do this or else she wouldn't tell me how it all happened. And aside from Kdrama,I really liked to indulge myself with real life drama too.

‎"Come on,don't keep me in suspense. You know I need gists like this to live" I exclaimed with exaggeration which made her roll her eyes. It seemed my facade really paid off as she started to talk.

‎"Fine, I was on my way for some CT scan results when we met and decided to chat for sometime and he was like he hasn't seen me lately and that he misses me and we should catch up "

‎"And what did you say?"I asked with anticipation

‎"Well I was very happy but didn't let it show and I said I was very busy so how about later?"

‎

‎" Then how about we go on a date?" "Those were his exact words and I nodded and left" She finished her story with stars in her eyes.

‎

‎" Good for you. Hope you have fun on your date"I said. "So are you please going to help me with the surgery that I have? " She asked and after heaving a big sigh, I gave in.

‎

‎"Fine I will but, you have to give me every detail of what happens later and buy me some ice cream when you come home. "I said.

‎

‎"Yeah sorry,I won't be coming to your place tonight,I have to go and visit my parents. " She said with some guilt but I smiled.

‎

‎"Kay Kay, then you owe me big one you understand?" I said and she laughed as she hugged me again. She squeezed me with her strong arms.

‎"Thanks,I really love you .You are the best " She said.

‎

‎"Can't...breath" I struggled to breath and she realized so she released me from her embrace and giggled.

‎"Go and have a romantic time." I wished with sincerity and she smiled bitterly and I knew why.

‎"I wouldn't be the only one having this if you only went to tell Leonard your feelings. Be brave for once" she said and I got sad.

‎" What if he's not like that and only sees me as a friend? Not only will I be rejected but lose our friendship and I can't bear that"I reasoned and she sighed.

‎"Fine,do what you see fit and don't worry,if he's not the one ,then I'm sure your man is coming. I can already feel it " She said and we both laughed.

‎"Kay,now I have to go mwah.... wish me luck " She kissed my cheeks and said as she dashed to her office

‎"You don't need it"I said a little out loud and realized people were staring at us with lovey dovey eyes.

‎People whispered and I really felt embarrassed. I always warned Cas not to do these intimate things with me in public or people will take us for a couple. I will deal with her later.

‎Now I had to go and do this surgery and oh no, she didn't tell me which room .Great Cas,now what ? I headed towards Dina's desk and saw her flipping through some files.

‎" Hi, still bombarded with work? " I asked and she sighed.

‎

‎" Oh yes of course,I have been looking for some papers but can't find them. Want to help ? You seem less busy. "She said looking at me with plead.

‎

‎"Actually I came to you for a favor.I need you to let me see Carissa's surgical schedule. I am to stand in for her due to some emergency" I said and she frowned

‎"I knew it" she muttered with sadness and typed into her computer for the info.

‎

‎"Where is she by the way? Hope everything is alright?" She asked curiously.

‎

‎"You don't need to worry,everything is okay. Something suddenly came up so she had to pass." I said

‎

‎"Mmm always with the same excuses,she's really lucky to get a friend who is always doing her work" She said

‎

‎"What are besties for?" I said and we laughed.

‎

‎"Huh wish I had a friend like that. You know I have been really lonely and......"

‎

‎There we go again, Showing how pitiful she was . If I didn't leave right now,she will open her flood gates and  that would be something else

‎"You know let's continue this conversation later,I have a surgery to undertake"I cut her off as politely as I could .

‎

‎"Oh right sorry my bad. Can't stop the Surgery god from saving another life today can I? " She asked and then giggled

‎"Hey don't you dare jinx it . Where am l having the surgery?"I asked

‎

‎"Surgery room 103:the patient has a fractured aorta which needs to be put in its rightful place" She stated and I nodded in gratitude then to my heels I went to room 103

‎

‎"Dr. Light, please where is Dr.Stones the surgery is about to start " Julius ,a surgical resident said as I entered the room. Yeah hello Julius,nice to meet you too. Such an asshole.

‎

‎"Don't worry,I'll be taking her place let's get ready" I said motioning the nurse beside me to put on my gloves.

‎

‎"But she's supposed to be here . This isn't the first time you are taking her place and where does she go anytime she's to perform a surgery?" He asked looking aggrieved and I frowned.

‎

‎"Mr.Conner,what matters now is the patient being saved not who saves him . Where Cas goes doesn't concern you so please know your place. You are just a surgical resident so don't cross the line . Do you want to continue the surgery with me or I should let someone else assist me ?" I asked in retortion and anger and everyone was starring at us. This wasn't the first time he crossed the line and I wasn't going to let him off the hook this time.

‎ "I'm sorry Dr.Light,I was just concerned of her whereabouts. I guess it came out wrong ,please let's proceed" he apologized as he gritted his teeth which meant his apology wasn't a sincere one.

‎

‎I nodded and with that we started the operation. "Scalpel please " I requested and the nurse gave it to me as I used it to dissect the patient's chest.  Soon the heart came into view.

‎

‎"Suction "I ordered and Julius with the suction cleaner cleared the blood from the heart giving me a clear view of the heart .

‎

‎I searched for the fractured aorta and with just a glance ,I saw it and then positioned it well to its original place and voilà, easy peasy everything was done .

‎

‎"Solved ,Mr.Connor,will you do me the honors in closing up the patient?" I asked and he nodded

‎

‎"Okay Dr. Light" he said and I nodded and stood aside for him to do his part . I then noticed a group of teenagers  outside looking at us like we were playing a drama . You could see stars in their eyes and I felt the déjà vu.

‎

‎Seven years ago,I was just like these kids and now I'm here. Time really passed by quickly. After some reminiscing,I turned and the jackass was already done.

‎

‎"All cleared up" He said and I nodded. "Good, now let him rest. Good job and teamwork guys"I said giving everyone a thumbs up and they all laughed except for you know who

‎

‎"Doctor,today was a delight working with you again. You solved everything with ease and elegance" One nurse said and the rest nodded which made me blush. Luckily,the nose mask covered my cheeks.

‎

‎"It was a team effort,but thanks for the compliment,I always give my all"I said

‎

‎" Humble as always. "She said and I giggled .

‎

‎"I will take my leave then " I said and they nodded. Just as I exited the room and removed my mask,the spectating kids rushed over and hovered around me like they had seen their idol.

‎

‎I was dumbfounded for a second but regained my composure and steezy I was for this was a norm for me anytime I finished a surgery

‎"Dr.Light, you saved someone again"

‎"Dr.Light,you are my idol"

‎

‎"Dr.Light,I love you so much"

‎They shouted and rattled so much I couldn't focus on one person.

‎"Hold up, one after they other,please form a queue" I suggested and within seconds, they conformed and I giggled

‎

‎"Can I have your autograph please" The first girl asked and I signed.

‎

‎"How do you not let someone die on your bed ? Do you have powers? " A guy asked and I smiled.

‎

‎"I'm very normal,my secret is vigilance,speed,stealth and knowledge" I said and he nodded.

‎

‎"Are you a star,model or an actor? You look very gorgeous." A girl said and  I really blushed in front of these kids.

‎

‎"No I'm not but thank you for the compliment. You also look very pretty.What skincare products do you use? Your skin looks so smooth and fresh."I complimented and she smiled coquettishly .

‎

‎"I use Korean skincare products sir,should I recommend you some. Infact you don't need some,your skin looks fresh and smooth already. " she said and we laughed.

‎

‎This continued for half an hour and I realized it was time to go home. I heaved a sigh of tiredness and relief and just like that, I went to the garage,entered my car and straight home. Finally,the day's work had ended.
