‎I continued to eat my oatmeal with jammed sandwich but how could I eat freely when this man continued starring at me.

‎

‎"What Grandpa,is something on my face?" I asked knowing that wasn't the reason why he was starring at me.

‎

‎"No just curious about what I saw this morning" he said and I feigned a frown. 

‎

‎"It is very normal for a guy to have a morning erection grandpa.You know that"I explained.

‎

‎"Of course I know,what do you think I didn't go to school? I'm just curious as to what man was in your sex dream. Was it the doctor in your hospital?" I choked when he stated that so bluntly. I quickly took the glass jar,poured some water in the glass and gulped it like my life depended on it.

‎"Grandpa,please I'm eating and that's something personal." I said a little angry this time.

‎

‎Grandpa was also aware of my sexuality. If you must know dear reader,I have no relation with this man sitting opposite me.

‎I was twelve when my family sacked me from home when they realized I was gay. I stayed homeless for three days and ended up in this city.

‎I was very hungry but I had no money so I decided to steal but unfortunately,I was caught and the vendor started beating me mercilessly

‎If Grandpa hadn't come to my rescue,I was sure I would have been dead by now.

‎He paid the cupcake I stole and asked me if I was lost? I told him my whole story and he was angry that very instant.

‎"This is a right denial,let's go to the police" he said but I begged him not to because even I though I knew about my rights and that what my parents had done was legally wrong, I decided not to go because I knew even if they were forced to take me back,they won't treat me with love like they used too.

‎

‎My family is not any devoted catholic,muslim or anything yet they hated and were disgusted by lgbt people. The reason why? I still can't figure out.

‎

‎Grandpa then decided to adopt me as his own and till now I have lived with him.

‎

‎His wife died the year before I came in an accident . He has a son who is in his early forties and is at UK with his own family.

‎

‎How grandpa knew about Leon,that big mouth Carissa blurted it out to him one day when he asked if I had started seeing someone and was ready to start mingling.

‎

‎Those two have been forcing me to date since my twenty fourth birthday.

‎

‎Cas even downloaded that app called Grinder and made a profile for me which I deleted later. I was grateful by how thoughtful she was but I was rather into the whole destiny thing. I didn't believe in that fake love match thing and I didn't want to rush love.

‎

‎In the hospital,only Cas and Dina knew about my sexuality. Few have been suspecting since I act feminine but it's not their place to ask or investigate.

‎

‎Cas is the only friend I have ever had and she realized when she caught me watching a boy love drama on my phone.

‎

‎She was really happy for me and a little sad that I didn't inform her earlier.

‎

‎"I'm your best friend and we don't keep things from each other"she claimed

‎

‎As for how Dina knew,I told her. She had a crush on me and won't stop pestering me. She was dumbfounded when I told her and was like;"Yeah right,the good looking ones are always the gay ones".

‎We became close friends since then.

‎

‎"So it is really him huh. Won't you confess to him "Grandpa asked when he noticed my reaction.

‎

‎"You know how it is grandpa.What if he doesn't like me and I screw things up. I really like where we've gotten to " I said a little sad.

‎

‎"I know it is hard dear,but how long are you going wait for the moment to present itself."he asked

‎

‎"Patience moves mountains"I said.

‎

‎"And is this patience or you stalling?Afraid of rejection. No risk, no reward"He counterattacked me with his words and stood to clear the table.

‎

‎I just sat there thinking of what he said. I knew he was right but I knew the weight of this situation better so he won't fully understand no matter how he tried to and cared.

‎

‎I got up and packing my things for work,I went and gave him a kiss on his cheek as he was washing the dishes.

‎

‎"I'm leaving,wish me luck" I said and headed towards the door.

‎

‎"You don't need it. Extend my greetings to Carissa for me" he said.

‎

‎"Okay I will" I replied as I closed the door behind me and entered the garage. I opened my car,started it and on my way I was to Green Hills Hospital.

‎

‎After twenty minutes,I got to the hospital and went to park my car in the parking lot . I got out,locked it and on my way,I saw Leonard also getting out of his car.

‎

‎I had studied the time at which he came to work and always made sure we met. Creepy I know right. We are in the same shift team so it won't be that obvious.

‎

‎I quickly walked to him in a professional way and greeted him.

‎

‎"Good morning to you too Dr.Light. Hope all is well. How is your grandpa?"he asked with care but I knew it was just courtesy.

‎

‎One shouldn't be surprised he knew about my grandpa for everyone in the hospital did. This was because of the frequent or regular check up I let him did.

‎He also brought them desserts anytime he came so he was loved by many.

‎

‎"He's fit as a fiddle.Thanks for asking" I said with a plastered smiled on my face. I hope I wasn't smiling too much.

‎

‎"Shall we?"he asked and I nodded as we walked into the hospital.

‎

‎It wasn't that crowded today which meant I could at least follow him to the seventh floor where our offices were.

‎

‎"Good morning Dr. Hills"

‎

‎"Good morning Dr.Light"

‎

‎We nodded in response as people greeted us on the way.

‎

‎We walked hand in hand to the elevator.

‎He gestured for me to entered before him which made my heart dance in joy even though I perfectly knew he was doing this just to be courteous.

‎

‎"Thanks"I said to follow along and he nodded and smiled.

‎

‎The door was about to close when suddenly a lot of people swamped in. I wasn't surprised,because I knew it was because of the heir being here.

‎

‎He mostly used the Executive Elevator but because of me he used this. I kinda felt guilty for making him feel uncomfortable just because of my one sided love.

‎

‎The people squeezed us and my body slammed onto his.

‎

‎"Sorry "we both said which made us smile.

‎

‎His body on my body sent shivers down my spine. The sex dream flashed in my head and my ears started to heat up . Comport yourself here.

‎The elevator started to move and his body pressed on mine more. I could almost feel his heart beat.

‎Oh how I wish every morning was like this. It seemed that sex dream decided to give me a taste of it.

‎I secretly inhaled his scent and I mistakenly hummed which he heard

‎"Are you uncomfortable"he said trying to pull away a little and a small space came between us. Shoot.

‎"Yeah I'm okay"I said and he nodded.

‎

‎After a few seconds,the elevator made a halt and almost half of the people got out with satisfied and smiling faces. Why was Leonard really that of a big deal?

‎

‎It closed again and we moved upwards to the fourth floor where the rest got down and it was remaining I and him

‎

‎

‎The distance between us was quite large this time and silence reigned .

‎

‎We soon got to the seventh floor. The elevator halted,opened and again,he gestured for me to pass first and I nodded. Saying'thank you'again will mean our relationship was formal and I didn't want that.

‎

‎He followed behind me.

‎

‎" Okay good luck with work today" he broke the silence.

‎

‎"Yeah you too thanks. See you later " I said with a smile and he nodded. He walked past me and on his way, he saw Cas standing there waiting for me.

‎

‎He greeted her and she nodded.

‎

‎"I have given the files you requested to your assistant" she said. How did she know he needed it? I didn't tell her.

‎

‎"Sure,thanks"he said

‎

‎"My pleasure"she said with a huge smile on her face.Someone would think she was flirting with him with how she carried herself around him and I knew she was doing it just to piss me off.

‎

‎Leonard nodded and carried on to his office.

‎

‎I then walked to her and she quickly grabbed my hand and pulled me closer to her.

‎

‎"So what happened? Did you tell him?" She asked.

‎

‎"What!  Of course not.We just seem to be in the same elevator that's all" I explained .

‎

‎"Hmm,you don't say"she said looking at me suspiciously.

‎

‎Of course she knew I had memorized Leonard's schedule and that I let him take the Economic Elevator.

‎

‎"So how was your date last night?" I asked ready to change the topic and her expression changed from suspicious to delighted which meant it went well.

‎

‎"Judging from your expression,it went well." I said and she nodded her head.

‎

‎"It was so magical and I will never forget it. We chatted for hours and weren't willing to depart. When he brought me home,he kissed me goodnight " she narrated and I gasped in amazement.

‎

‎"Oh my gosh. That's great. I'm so happy for you two" I said and she smiled.

‎

‎We chatted for a while and then went to work when her assistant called us that we were needed in the emergency room.

‎

‎It was twelve noon and I was eating in the cafeteria when my phone rang. It was Dina.

‎

‎"Hello,wassup"I asked.

‎

‎"The president wants to see you"she replied and I abruptly swallowed the food in my mouth.

‎

‎"Me, for what?" I asked.

‎

‎"How would I know,why don't you go and ask him." she said and disconnected the call . Wow,what was up with her today?  I will ask later now I had to go for the president had summoned me.

‎

‎Not finishing my food,I took my phone a d headed towards the Executive Elevator. I choose the nine button to the ninth floor. Only the president occupied it.

‎

‎Within some few hours,I got there, adjusted my shirt and hurried to his office. I inhaled and exhaled before knocking the door.

‎

‎"Come in."the voice behind the door said.

‎

‎I opened the door,entered and closed it behind me . I then greeted him."Good day sir."

‎

‎"Drop the formalities dear. How are you?"he asked.

‎

‎"I'm doing great uncle"I said and he smiled.

‎

‎"Have a seat Christopher."He gestured and I did what was asked of me.

‎

‎"It seems I called you out of the blue so I won't keep you long here, the International Health Contest has been commenced and our hospital has been nominated again to take part in the competition again. I will therefore love it if you represented us " He finished and I was taken aback.

‎

‎I had completely forgotten about the IHC .

‎I was happy that he had chose me again. Last year I went and I got first place and now I'm going again.

‎

‎"Hope that wouldn't affect your schedule?"he asked worriedly and I shook my head.

‎

‎"It would be an honor to go and represent again. Thank you sir, I mean uncle. I said and stood up making an attempt to bow to him but he quickly noticed it and stopped me midway.

‎

‎"I'm happy you are willing to contest. Hope you will bring the championship again" he said

‎

‎"I will do my best" I said and he nodded in pride. He was like a father to me not because of Leon but because of how he favored me. I knew most doctors especially the executives won't be pleased that I was going to contest again.

‎

‎After some chatting and making of arrangements,I humbly asked for my leave ready to share the big news with Cas and my colleagues.
