‎Before five a.m,I had already finished bathing and dressing and headed downstairs. Grandpa hadn't woken up and therefore,I decided to surprise him by preparing breakfast before he woke up as that was what he did every day.

‎

‎I wondered what to do and after some brainstorming,I decided to make toast and coffee as its available ingredients were what I could see.

‎

‎Wearing my apron I set the stove on fire and cracked some eggs. Pouring oil into the already heated frying pan,I added salt and sliced some tomatoes,onions and carrots into the scrambled eggs,stirred and then poured it into the frying pan.Grandpa wasn't supposed to eat much salt at his age . I then flipped it to the other side once I was sure the bottom was fried.

‎I cracked another batch of eggs for myself and added my desired veggies and salt and stirred waiting for the one on the pan to fully fry.

‎

‎Waiting for some seconds,it did and I removed it and placed it on a plate. I sprinkled some oil on the frying pan again and once it was hot,I poured the other scrambled eggs into it. Heading to the other side of the stove,I plugged in the toaster and placed five pieces of bread into it.

‎

‎I went back to my eggs and flipped to the other side to  fully fry. The toaster rang which indicated the bread was toasted. I took the slices of bread out and placed another batch of five slices inside.

‎

‎Soon I was done with the eggs and the toasts and decided to make the coffee. I poured the coffee beverage into the coffeemaker as it prepared and brewed it.

‎

‎After some minutes,the coffee was ready and I served grandpa and my own.

‎

‎No sooner had I finished serving the table and  was about to call grandpa than he appeared behind me which made me a little startled.When did he descend downstairs and I didn't notice.

‎

‎"Someone is an early bird today"he said as he looked at the table surprised.

‎

‎"Yeah grandpa,good morning to you too"I said and he laughed.

‎

‎"Sorry,good morning dear.How was your sleep?Did you have a nightmare?"he asked and I was confused why he asked such question out of the blue. Did I cry in my sleep again unknowing this time?

‎

‎"No I didn't. Why?"I asked.

‎

‎"Because you woke up and even prepared breakfast which only meant you woke up very early."He explained.

‎

‎"No I didn't have a nightmare.I just happen to wake up very early and prepare breakfast for us. You're welcome though"I said a little vexed he didn't notice my true intentions.He noticed I was a little sad and decided to comfort me.

‎

‎"Oh don't be angry,it's just you haven't ever woken up early like this which made me worry. I'm also happy you decided to prepare breakfast. I really appreciate it.Thank you and come here for your reward." he ordered and he pulled me into his embrace and hugged me.

‎

‎"Let's eat before the food gets cold"I said and pulled myself from his embrace.

‎

‎We sat down and decided to dig in.

‎

‎"I will be coming for my check up appointment today right?" Grandpa asked to confirm and I nodded.

‎

‎"I will come back home to pick you at one"I said and he shook his head.

‎

‎"No need,I will be around there by that time. One of my friends called for lunch. He said he had something to discuss with me"he explained.

‎

‎"Do you have any idea of what it is?" I asked a little intrigued.

‎

‎"I'm also curious myself. I will have to go and find out." he answered.

‎

‎We continued to eat and after some minutes,we were both done. Grandpa beat me to clearing off the table.Why did he always like to work himself? Heaving a sigh,I decided to pack my things for work.

‎

‎I went to the kitchen and kissed his cheeks as usual and made my way to the door.

‎

‎"Don't forget,one p.m. Check up appointment.I will call you."I said.

‎

‎"Okay I hear you. Good luck with work. " he said.

‎

‎"Thanks"I said and closed the door behind me then went to the garage. I started my car and straight to the hospital.

‎

‎"Good morning Dr.Light."one nurse greeted as I entered the hospital and I nodded.

‎

‎I made my way to Dina's desk and was about to greet her when she raised her hand to stop me since she was on the phone.

‎

‎"Yeah, An ambulance is on the way right now"she assured the person on the other side of the phone and ended the call. She then dialed another number and called,

‎

‎"Hello,we need an ambulance at this address, street**** ,resident number ten"she finished.

‎

‎"Yeah what up?"she asked and placed the telephone down.

‎

‎"Just wanted to greet you. What's wrong?"I asked.

‎

‎"A man's wife water broke. She is about to get into labour."She replied and I nodded.

‎

‎"May she have a safe delivery. "I said and she nodded.

‎

‎"Any surgery for me?" I asked and she shook her head. I nodded and then made my way towards my office,using the elevator.I hadn't seen Cas yet. Hope everything went well for her last night.

‎

‎I unlocked my office with the key and entered.No sooner had I sat down to revise for the IHC than the cleaner walked in . Oh I had forgotten not to lock the office yesterday so he could be able to clean my office. I stood up to apologize to the old man.

‎

‎"Sorry sir I had totally forgot."

‎

‎"No need Dr.Light I completely I understand"he said smiling to me as he made his way to the washroom to start cleaning there.

‎

‎"Then I will leave you to it then thank you"I said making my way to the door.

‎

‎"It's my job but you're welcome" he said and  we both laughed and with that, I left my office and headed to Carissa's own. I held the knob to twist it and open the door but it was lock.That strange,she never locks it. I was about to leave when I heard strange noises coming from inside so I got confused.

‎

‎*knocking"

‎

‎"Cas are you there?open the door"I said, knocking the door. The noise ceased and I thought it was an intruder or maybe a thief. Cas would never lock her door.

‎

‎I started to feel very anxious and knocked the door louder this time.

‎

‎"Who's there?I'm calling security"I threatened hoping whoever was inside will be scared.

‎

‎"Come whoever you are now"I warned and was about to knock again when the door quickly opened and my hand was in the air.

‎

‎Branson,what was he doing there. Wait a minute,were they? I looked at him from head to toe. His disheveled hair,his tucked out and half unbuttoned shirt and loosely buckled trousers gave it all away.

‎

‎"Good morning Christopher" he said awkwardly and passed right beside me straight to his office.

‎

‎I giggled and entered and saw my best friend sitting down.

‎

‎"What just happened?Did I interrupt something?"I asked jokingly.

‎

‎"What do you think Chris?"she retorted sharply. She was angry and I understood why,I had interrupted such a moment for her. But you can't blame me. How was I supposed to know? I was even worried for her.

‎

‎"Well my bad ,well you can't blame me. You are in a hospital so such things shouldn't be done here. "I said.

‎

‎"Oh please,you and I know what has been going on in this hospital"she said as she gritted her teeth. She was right though. You wouldn't believe till you see if I told you this hospital was a sex club in disguise.

‎

‎"I'm really sorry,now let's go for something to eat in the cafeteria,I'm now hungry again after all that knocking and shouting. "I said and headed to the door but realized she wasn't standing up. So I turned.

‎

‎"Come on.Don't tell me you are pissed? I said I'm sorry.I didn't know"I said a little stressed.

‎

‎"Not that,I can't stand up"She shouted.

‎

‎"Why?Did he fuck you so had you can't walk?"I asked seriously bewildered. If that was so then they really had wild sex.

‎

‎"Not that you pervert."

‎

‎"I'm in my underwear"she whispered and I did the 'oh' expression. I quickly closed the opened door and she finally stood up which made me laugh . She took her skirt which was lying in the floor near her chair and wore it.

‎

‎She eyed me and walked past me ,opened the door and exited her office leaving me standing there.

‎

‎"Won't you wait for me?"I asked as I hurried to follow her.
