‎"I'm really sorry Chris,I got caught up in the chess we were playing and didn't realize it was one until his son said something about going to see his lawyer at one.And why are you scolding me?The appointment was done and now we are waiting for the results.What's there to worry about?" he asked.

‎"You were lucky this time and I know with this behavior,you would repeat this in the near future. Why does it look like I'm the only one serious about your health here? I'm really worried about you if you think I'm disturbing you with this appointments.You are growing therefore,your health needs to be taken care of very seriously"I explained feeling very sad and he sighed.

‎

‎"Listen Chris,You aren't worrying me if you think that's what I'm thinking of these appointments. I'm really happy that you're doing this and looking out for me but you should know this, death can't be predicted or stopped and as a doctor,you should know that. When my time is up,it is. Just allow me to enjoy the limited time I have left"he finished and I fused.

‎

‎"Grandpa don't say that. You are going to live very long and even watch me grow old and die before you do. I'm not going to let that happen ever. "I declared seriously.

‎

‎One thing I feared the most now was him leaving me. He was the only family I had and I will be completely miserable without him. As for my real family,I'm sure I was dead to them and so were they to me. It has been thirteen years since I left home and they haven't even come to look for me. I didn't even hear any news of a missing child on television or on the internet.

‎

‎Grandpa laughed at what I said then shook his head.

‎

‎"Just because no has died on your bed doesn't mean you can control death dear.But I hope what you said comes to pass if that's what you really want" he said and hugged me.

‎

‎"I love you grandpa"I whispered to his ears.

‎

‎"I love you more"he said and I teared up.He was my everything and I would do whatever it took to make him happy.

‎

‎"Hey don't leave me out of this"I heard Cas say as she came to hug us. When did she get here? She then pulled away and grandpa retracted his body from mine and faced her.

‎

‎"There you are my sunshine,where have you been?"He asked .

‎

‎"I was performing a surgery gramps.How did your appointment go?she asked.

‎

‎"It went well,just waiting for the results"I answered and he nodded.

‎

‎"That's good to hear. Did Christopher tell you? Dr.Hills invited him on a date"she blurted out and I was flabbergasted and didn't see it coming. This woman never seemed to keep her mouth shut.

‎

‎"You chatterbox,I will deal with you" I said as I made an attempt to hit her but she noticed and quickly went to grandpa's side and hid behind him.

‎

‎"Gramps protect me.He wants to bully me."She said like a child who was offended.Which even made me more angry.

‎

‎"Bully you?I am going to teach you a lesson to always keep that big mouth of yours shut"I said making an attempt to pull her from grandpa's side but she held his hand firmly and I didn't want to use too much force else I may hurt him so I swallowed my anger and decided to deal with her later. This was what she always did. Using grandpa as her shield since she knew how grandpa's health mattered to me.

‎"It's okay Chris,there is nothing wrong in telling me this. Why didn't you though?"he asked curiously and a little disappointed.

‎

‎"I was going to tell you once we got home and it's not even a date. His friend has a launching party and he decided to invite me"I explained and he nodded.

‎

‎"So what are you going to do?Will you tell him how you feel?" he asked.

‎

‎"Don't worry,I,the best matchmaker in this hospital have a plan. Chris is going to flirt with him"she said.

‎

‎"Lower your voice. Someone may here. "I cautioned her and I watched around to see if anyone was near and had heard our conversation.

‎

‎"Why?still haven't come out to your friends?"Grandpa asked looking worried and l bowed my head,my face to the ground.

‎

‎"You can't live like this forever you know that? When are you going to be courageous for once?Not everyone is like your family.I hope you know that?"he scolded this time.

‎

‎"Yeah Chris,what your family did is inhumane and unforgivable but you should know there are good people in the world too"Cas reasoned.

‎

‎I always felt down anytime I remembered what my family did to me. It had become a scar that would always frighten me of what would happen next if I told someone especially people close to me about my sexuality. I had even went to therapy because of this but it didn't seem to help me at all.

‎

‎I smiled to the two most important people in my life right now to assure them I was fine as they looked worried since they were aware of how I felt anytime my family was brought up.

‎

‎"I hear you. I will try"I said and they smiled and with that,we hugged together again.

‎

‎We were about to escort grandpa out of the hospital since I had ordered a ride for him when we got stopped by Dina on the way.

‎

‎"Mr.Jones,you are here.How did your appointment go?"she asked politely.

‎

‎"It went well and we are waiting for the results. Thanks for asking dear"grandpa said smiling at her. He really liked Dina out of all my work mates.

‎

‎"So you are leaving now?"she asked scanning at us to check if he was holding something and I realized the main reason she stopped us.

‎

‎"Yes,Dina he's leaving since he doesn't have any business anymore. Unfortunately,he didn't bring desserts with him to share to you."Cas blurted out as she smirked when she realized Dina's face had changed when she saw through her.

‎

‎"That wasn't what I meant."she defended herself but she knew Cas and l wouldn't buy that. If grandpa wasn't here,she would've admitted it but she couldn't do that and give a bad impression of herself to him.

‎

‎"Oh,the desserts,yeah I totally forgot,Cas I didn't know you enjoyed my desserts that much,I'm sorry.  You see,I went to my friend's place before coming here that's why I couldn't bring them. You could just tell me you were sad I didn't bring them. You don't have to put it out on innocent Dina"grandpa explained.It seemed he had misunderstand the whole situation.

‎

‎"What me?of course not"Cas defended herself.

‎

‎"So you mean you don't like his desserts?I personally think they are nice. Are you saying they aren't delicious?"Dina said. Wow,look at how the situation just turned upside down. Dina had trapped her. That served her right for always being a talkactive. I knew she wanted to say no but that would mean she didn't like grandpa's desserts and that would really hurt grandpa's feelings.

‎

‎"Yeah you got me.I wanted to put it out on you"she said as she gritted her teeth which made me laugh in my head. Dina then nodded and went back to her desk with smiles on her face. She had finally won something against Carissa but we both knew Carissa wasn't going to let this slide.She was definitely going to get revenge and I couldn't wait to see what she had up her sleeves. Dina should really prepare.

‎Once she left,Cas and I escorted grandpa outside the hospital. He entered the taxi and left.

‎

‎"That Dina,she wouldn't know what hit her"she said with vengeance in her eyes.

‎

‎"Oh please,you set your own trap with that mouth of yours. She just counterattacked you once grandpa misunderstood you."I said.

‎

‎"But still"

‎

‎"Do what you gotta do later and listen to this,Leonard sent me the time and location."I said and her expression changed from revenge to surprise and joy.
