「静寂のあとに」- Silence Over

Author’s Note 1.0

Author’s Note 1.0

Oct 11, 2025

Hello, I’m Reeria — or by the Japanese name that was granted to me, ハルカ (Haruka).

I’ve also gone by other names — Rhea, Eriiphyle, and sometimes even something random like Jellyfish, in the games I used to play.
Each name carries a small part of me, like fragments of different worlds I’ve wandered through.

I’m so glad to finally bring this story to this platform, Tapas.
It’s my first time doing something like this — my first time writing in a novel-like way, and seeing it through to the end.

🌸 My Reason

When I first started writing, my intention was simple:
to record my memories — ‘our’ memories — in a way that could be shared and understood.

Whenever I tried to tell this story aloud, so many small pieces would get lost.
It always felt like a shame.
I wanted to say, “I want to tell everything — every single thing!”

Now that this story has reached a stopping point — one milestone —
I feel that I’ve achieved at least one small dream:
to tell ‘the story of how we came together.’

Maybe one day, when my friends or someone asks about us,
I can smile and say,

“If you’d like to know, you can read the story here.”

💭 My Perspective

At first, I wrote this story purely from my own point of view.
I named the character Arin, and began weaving scenes from my own experiences.

But as the story went on, something shifted.
It began to feel like I was no longer the one writing —
as if Arin and Ren had started living in their own world,
speaking and moving in ways that even I hadn’t planned.

They still followed the path I wanted to tell —
but in their own rhythm, with their own hearts.

And I realized something small, yet important.

When you live through something yourself, everything rushes by so fast — a blur.
But when Arin experiences it, it slows down.
Each heartbeat becomes a moment.
A “toki toki” feeling that lingers.

💫 Ren in the Story, and My Ren

The Ren in this story turned out to be more thoughtful than I first imagined.
I grew fond of his name — so it stayed.
He shared his side of things, and together we shaped the story’s flow.

So maybe, in the end,

I’ve created more than just a retelling —
I’ve created characters who carry parts of us.
And now, my little collection of worlds has grown once again.

🎨 What’s Next

I’m thinking of refining a few parts — or maybe doing some drawings first.
Honestly, I didn’t expect uploading to require artwork even for novels!
I chose to write this as prose because I wanted to avoid making comics for now…
but here we are again, full circle.

If everything goes well, I’ll continue writing.
Because this turned out to be much more enjoyable than I expected.
To write — and to finish something —
is quite a fun, fulfilling feeling, isn’t it?

Thank you, truly, for reading.

A story of fleeting moments and quiet healing — where two people learn, slowly and gently, that sincerity can take root and grow.

After losing touch with most of her close friends after graduation, Arin found herself retreating into the quiet rhythm of a game — a world that didn’t rush and always stayed the same. What began as a casual pastime became her sanctuary, a place where she could exist without expectations. Though she tells herself she plays “just for fun,” a part of her seeks something deeper — connection, understanding, a quiet reminder that warmth still exists. Then came Ren — awkward, sincere, and unexpectedly kind. His clumsy words and genuine care begin to soften the stillness she’s built around herself. Through him, Arin rediscovers small joys: laughter that feels real, comfort that feels earned, and the courage to be open again.
