Rachel and Joel yawned after spending so much time on their imaginary adventures together, mainly the part where Prince Darkness and Bright Bunny had to fight the sea monster.
Checking the time on the alarm clock, Rachel is the first to realize that it’s already midnight.
“Holy crap, it’s midnight already?” She pointed out as she stood up to put away everything with the help of her friend, Joel.
The map of Wonderland, paperdolls who both resemble heroes, and other drawings were put away into one drawer next to the bed. And yes, the empty plate, where the cookies have already been eaten, are put into the sink by Rachel.
They laid down on the only bed that is at the top left corner of the room, in their casual outfits instead of pajamas because they’re too exhausted to change their clothes.
Joel didn’t want to sleep on the floor, knowing that it’ll hurt his back.
Lying on the bed, they looked deep into each other’s eyes, hands resting under the sides of their heads relaxing on the pillow, smiling at one another.
“Promise to always stay with me until we become cartoonists?” Said Rachel, extending her pinkie finger to him with a glint of hope.
Joel promised, “I’ll always stay with you until the day we accomplish our dreams of becoming cartoonists..”
He then wrapped his arms around his friend’s waist and snuggled his face close to her neck. Rachel finds it unexpected of Joel, but she has gotten used to it whenever they have a sleepover.
Joel muttered something that her ears barely acknowledged, leading to confusion that remains a secret to Rachel. It was something along the lines of “I need you,” but she’s not too sure about that… Yet.
Whatever, there’s other things to worry about. Things such as high school, getting mocked by the popular trio, and worst of all… Math homework.
