Both of the students let out a small shaky breath as they realized just how bad what the police officer said was. Not only was the suspect of the crime a teacher... But the police themselves did not even know who the suspect was. This meant that any teacher in the school could be the killer. The killer could have overheard their conversation too... Maeve glanced around and spotted Crossfield walking away from them as he turned a corner. She went to follow after him, but Dan quickly grabbed her arm, his arm shaking slightly, and did not let her do such a stupid thing as follow a random teacher who could be the killer.

Letting out a small yelp, she quickly turned around and looked right at Dan, wondering why he had grabbed hold of her. But by the simple look in his eyes, which was full of concern and care, she immediately understood how stupid what she had planned to do looked. She let out a small sigh and thanked him as she turned to leave and walk back home since this had been her only class of the day.

She quickly walked out of the school and noticed Crossfield get into the bus and pay with...cash? She chuckled silently to herself; did her favorite teacher really not have a membership for the bus? Jee... She shook her head side to side, realizing how weird she looked for picking up on small details like this, and simply hopped onto her own bus to go home. She sat down on the seat at the back of the bus after she had scanned her membership card at the front of the bus.

Knowing how long the bus ride would be, she comfortably laid back in the seat well, as comfortable as she could in those bad seats and pulled out her phone and headphones to listen to a podcast about the Battle of the Gods like she always did, but another podcast seemed to catch her attention this time. It was called ''The Flame Whisperer, the man who could control the flames to bring forth justice.''

The podcast went as follows:

''Hello and welcome to the podcast about the serial killer that was everywhere in the news back then his name was the Flame Whisperer the Flame Whisperer was known for a bunch of killings mainly is method was to ambush the victim inside their house wait for them to just fall asleep for for what we saw and then just kill them by burning their house down and then with what we saw the body of him was found later on by detective Gabriel Brooks into Lucian house and thus we saw that the serial killer that was known as the Flame Whisperer was actually Lucien Voss this whole time he was that was funny but yeah the serial killer was just Lucien Voss this whole time, the billionaire guy who owned a fucking island that is why it's funny a billionaire just killed people for no reason. Or at least that's what the media told us. Goodbye. ''

The podcast went on to talk about the murders in detail. But the way that the guy spoke was so unprofessional that Maeve simply shut it off and went on to simply watch the paysage outside as she listened to some music, but specifically the song ''Tear You Apart" by She Wants Revenge.

She bobbed her head to the beat as the bus drove closer and closer to her house; it didn't take long for it to arrive. Quickly getting out of the vehicle after gathering her items, she almost seemed to run right into her apartment and walked in after stumbling to get her key, which was far down in her bag.

She tossed her bags onto her bed and slumped back into her gaming chair, leaning back comfortably into it as she gently moved her mouse to open the screen to the computer that she had not turned off this morning when she had rushed to school. She then opened a browsing page and went to check the news to see an update about Marc's death... She wanted to see if they had caught the bastard already... But the news that appeared in front of her shook her to her very core.

Another House Fire.

Maeve's eyes widened as she read the title. A teacher had died due to a house fire...? But that sounded so damn similar to the podcast she had just heard about... Was the guy telling the truth? But he said that Lucian Voss was dead. How could the so-called Flame Whisperer be back from the dead...? No... This had to be a copycat... Definitely...it has to be. She kept repeating to herself until she heard a knock at her door, which made her almost jump out of her chair at how startled it made her.

Right. She had ordered something last week... She sighed as she stood up from her chair and stumbled down to the front door, which was gently opened as she seemed to observe out of the front door to make sure it wasn't some kind of attack. Paranoid child.

She quickly snatched her package from the ground and roughly closed her door, locking it as she waddled back to her room, snatching a pair of scissors from the kitchen. She immediately made way with the things that covered the box and opened it to see its content. She froze. Oh, this is definitely not something PG... Kids look away. Damn. She thought to herself. When did she order that shit again? Hell if she remembered. Oh well... She stashed the item under her bed and sat back on her chair comfortably.

She transferred the music that was on her headphones to her computer as she opened up her school writing homework to try and focus on it as much as she could... But this whole teacher dying from a house fire thing just kept troubling her.

What if this serial killer was actually back from the dead... Maybe he got infected with some kind of regenerative power in the battle of the stars? Maybe he just was immortal... God, that would be terrifying. She quickly shook her head from side to side, trying to really focus on just finishing her damn homework so she could go to bed already. This work was due for tomorrow morning, and she did not want to wake up early for a day she did not even have a class for.

After about half an hour of straight writing without stopping, she let out a loud "Ugh" and stood up from her chair as she went into her kitchen to grab a snack and a drink to clear her mind, but as soon as she opened the fridge, she made a horrible discovery. She forgot to buy groceries.

Again.
