As soon as she was released from the holding cell the next morning, Maeve did not waste a single second and started to walk toward the ferry. She needed to see what had happened on Marai Island. It was all that mattered to her now. She quickly paid for the boat and waited until it arrived at Marai Island to depart onto it and quickly ran toward where she had seen the light last night, and if you think the action is moving fast right now. Oh boy, there's a reason.
After a few hours of walking and running until her legs felt numb, she arrived at a huge crater. This had to be where the gods had crashed during the battle of the star. This excited her.
She glanced down into the crater and froze as she saw the corpse of a woman and some kind of gem right in front of her. She walked down into the crater, making sure she had a way to come back up as she did so. The corpse of the woman had the same markings under her eyes that the woman that Clive had fought in the stories had... So this was the corpse of Catherina Kushin... Nice... She glanced over at the shining bright red gem on the ground and went to grab onto it... However, as soon as she gripped onto it. Memories that weren't hers all went right into her mind in a fraction of a fraction of a second.
Loop #1
The sound of two swords clashing against each other reverberated around her. She felt like she was watching an event outside of her body; the feeling was inexplicable—it was so unreal. As the sound of swords clashing grew closer and closer, she recognized one of the assailants. Catherina Kushin was fighting against a tall and muscular woman... Maeve wasn't sure of her name... But it seemed like the Gem itself knew it. As if it were able to observe, as if it were all-knowing. The woman fighting Catherina was Sylvia. But why did no one unleash their Dargelionna? Where was Clive?
Sylvia seemed to be gaining the upper hand as soon as she swung her sword once more; the two blades clashed against each other for a second before Catherina's broke into multiple pieces, which were sent directly into her neck and chest, making her stumble back and gasp in pain and shock.
Catherina's body collapsed right next to the red gem that was on the ground... Her eyes widened as she saw it. She clearly had no idea what it was, nor did Sylvia, who stood tall in front of the collapsed woman on the ground... Catherina, in her dying moments, gripped onto the gem, which activated some kind of power inside of it, and in the mere blink of an eye...
Loop #2
The gem and Catherina were now crashing through the sky toward a small island surrounded by a ring-like continent. The gem seemed to channel a fraction of its power directly into the falling corpse of Catherina. The wind crackled against their skin right until they impacted onto the ground just like two falling stars. Maeve's eyes widened... Just like two falling stars... Did she just experience the Battle of the Stars itself from the front row seats...? Oh my god...
The silence of Catherina's corpse was short as a huge cloud of smoke suddenly shot out of her mouth. It unleashed a huge wave of energy all around the island... suddenly. So this was The Infection... Multiple footsteps were heard as two men suddenly came rushing down the crater. They were so familiar... Wait, was that Rowan and Ellis?! What were they doing here?!
Ellis seemed to take out a small syringe, which he was about to stab right into the corpse to collect a blood sample; however, before he even could, Rowan simply picked up the corpse with his hands and tossed it over his shoulder as he suggested that they simply use the whole body itself to do their experiments. This was all so confusing to Maeve. Did she just switch timelines...? What the fuck was even going on right now... Time was all so confusing, and then... as if time flew by in less than a second, Clive of all people showed up. He was bloodied... He seemed to finally have powers...? Smoke came out of his wounds as he was slowly healing them. But it clearly was not the best kind of healing... He definitely wasn't as powerful as the myths said...and he seemed to be followed by someone... Hold on, was that Catherina?! But...she was dead a mere second ago... What the fuck?!
Clive collapsed right next to the gem... Just like Catherina had done in the previous loop...? This was all so confusing, wasn't it, Maeve... Maeve froze. Did the gem just speak to her? Was it the gem...? Or something else entirely...? Why did the text always feel so alive...? Maeve's eyes widened as soon as Clive touched the gem and was sent back in time just like in the previous loop... But at the single point between the two loops...Maeve saw something. An entity right outside of Earth...who simply watches... That is me. I am the All-Seeing Eye. The narrator of this story. Of your story, Maeve.
Maeve couldn't believe what she was seeing right in between the two timelines. Not only was she seeing a whole other dimension itself... Was this Outer God in front of her a fourth-dimensional entity...? One that is outside the concept of time itself... But...this entity had been there for who knows how long... She just had to tell the world of this discovery... They would definitely love to know that... If only they did, Maeve... If only... It was amazing that her mind did not break from what she saw... She looked almost amazed. The being before her had...thousands of eyes pointed right at the earth... Unblinking...
Loop 3
But her sight into another dimension was short-lived. It was as if the narrator of this story wanted her to be aware of his existence. He wanted to terrorize her, but instead it had fascinated her.
Clive clutched the gem tightly in his hand as he also crashed through the sky just like a star right into Marai Island, and just like Catherina, a huge wave of energy shot out around the island as soon as the smoke came out of his corpse. But unlike Catherina, his body seemed to slowly melt and attach itself to the ground... He kept the gem with him... This seemed to be the only difference from the previous loop until Rowan and Ellis appeared once more... Seems like they are important to the loops... But unlike last loop, Rowan did not stop Ellis from taking a blood sample due to the fact that the body clearly could not be moved.
Just like last time, time seemed to move at the speed of light from Maeve's perspective... The body melted more and more until it reformed into a whole other shape... It was grotesque and disgusting... It matched the statement of what Astaroth first looked li... Wait...Is Astaroth Clive?!
Astaroth clutched the gem in his hand and crawled out of the huge crater until he came face to face with the bloodied body of Catherina. Seems like she just fought her own version of Clive... But where was he...? Did he somehow already cause the Battle of the Stars for the next loop without touching this gem?
Catherina let out a pained gasp as she saw the monstrous figure before her... But she realized it meant no harm...and after having some kind of recognition over the gem...Did Clive get one of his own...? That could explain the previous problem... I mean, I know the answer...I'm all-seeing... But I don't want to spoil the fun... Anyways... Catherina collapsed at Astaroth's feet before pleading with him to use the gem to go back in time to make sure her wish actually worked.
Astaroth complied and used the gem to get transported back in time.
Loop 4
Astaroth appeared right before Clive and Catherina... He was in the middle of two big apartments... Yes, this loop is exactly the story of Clive that you know... Astaroth unleashed his Dargelionna right after having sent a blade made of human flesh right toward Catherina's neck, which she had easily countered with her own power. The Dargelionna, "Skull of the Bloody Maiden," made Catherina slowly grow weaker and weaker... However, before Astaroth could fully kill off the woman before him, his head was cut off... But that did not stop him... His body slowly melted into another shape... A more humanoid shape...The Astaroth we all knew to love or hate.
At that exact moment, Astaroth seemed to recognize who Catherina was. Bla Bla Bla... You know how this loop goes... This is literally what happened in the previous part... Let's just skip over to the end... Of this loop... Well, for you, the reader. Maeve will still experience it all.
Clive and Catherina faced off against each other for the final time... Clive offered to speak with his sister... To resolve this whole conflict with words instead of trying to kill each other, but she quickly refused by sending a punch toward Clive. Their fists collided against each other. The power of the Red Gem that was given by Astaroth to Catherina mixed with the temporal powers of Clive, which shattered space-time itself and sent them both flying through all the loops one by one until they landed.
The Final Loop
Clive and his sister both crashed right into Marai Island... But they did not immediately die. Catherina gripped the Red Gem tightly in her hand before slamming it against Clive's side, which seemed to rip his powers right out of his body and store them right into the gem... But this also seemed to remove a part of his soul. As Clive collapsed, he snatched the gem from Catherina's hand and used it against her to send her forward in time before collapsing on the ground and dying... Just like in previous loops, he melted and reformed into Astaroth... But unlike previous timelines, he was right in front of Catherina...and unlike the others...he had two gems on him. The Prime Gem...and the gem he had gotten on his chest when he had his final transformation...as he heard Catherina's pleading, he dropped the prime gem to the ground right next to her as she collapsed and died before using his own gem to go back in time. Into another loop...A loop without a prime gem. The way he went back in time sent a huge wave of light and energy throughout Marai Island, which seemed to attract a passerby... A woman walked down the crater and crouched down to touch the Prime Gem...it was...Maeve herself.
Maeve snapped out of the Gem information and dropped it to the ground, which shattered it into millions of pieces. She lived in the fifth loop of this world... She had so much to tell the higher-ups of the world now... They would be amazed...hopefully.
