After the adventurer aided the mysterios individual, she previosly had mistaken as a corpse, with some food and water, aswell as some clothes. She tries to ask some questions. For example how the hell he ended up in the abyss and remained unharmed.
She thought he had to be some sort of Monster, yet he appeared Human.
"So? What's your deal?... You certainly can't be human."
Awaiting his response, she grows a little anxious but remains mostly curios.
He ignores her, he's busy finally knowing what if feels like to be alive, the fresh breath of air, the feeling of grass in his hands and the stunning Sun. All leave him ignorant to the increasingy rampant background chatter of the adventurer. Untill...
*CLAP*
The adventurer backhands him across the Face.
"What was that for?"
He asks, caressing his cheek.
"I asked you a question, what and who are you?"
Just then did he notice that the adventurer is holding a dagger to his throat.
"I know even less than you, I think I've just always been down there... can you please put that down now?"
"I'm not buying that, better tell me what you are right this second... are you a Monster?"
As her dagger grazes his neck he screams in a panic, upset.
"I'M NOT I'M JUST ANOTHER PERSON LIKE YOU... I-I don't know what else to tell you"
"Well I guess that's convincing enough"
Easing up a little, she gets up from the ground and muffels under her breath "Good Riddance then" turning a full 180°.
Only to notice him following her.
"Stop following me you freak, wasn't it enough that you scared my horse away?"
He flinches at her remarks but persists on following her, afterall...
"I just figured you're probably going in the right direction... whatever that is, so please bare with me."
Thinking to herself she's more than a days reach from the nearest shelter and that a meat shield could always come in handy, she decides not to press further.
"What's your name anyways? Nevermind I forgot you hit your head too hard or something... well I'm Claire and I'll just call you freak I guess"
From there on there was nothing but silence, hours pass by of restless walking and unfortunately it's getting Dark. Claire knows what this means and comes to a sudden stop to set up camp. Meanwhile the "Freak" takes the oppurtunity to rest his legs.
Afterwards Claire calls out to the "Freak" to inform him on their situation.
"Right now we are in the middle of nowwhere... that means we are vulnerable, now that it's growing Dark we are good as dead... That is if we draw their attention, so you just keep your mouth shut"
He already knew what by them she meant but he can't help to ask..
"By them... you mean the Monsters?"
She nods and gets in inside the Tent she set up, he follows and they both plant themselves inside the Tent as if they were imatating an in animate object, waiting for Dawn. But each passing Minute feels like an Hour and the Nightmare hasn't even started yet.
By this point it has gotten pitch Dark, they couldn't even make out their own Hands infront of them. It certainly had to have been the high Forest trees blocking out the sky. In any combative scenario they would be helpless to any Predator. To whatever is approaching them.
They can both hear something in the distance, it was faint but it stood out. Claire might have known what it is but "Freak" didn't and he was to afraid to ask.
Whatever it was, was unbelievable loud but what was most disturbing was the noises it made. They were so unnatural in a weird way robotic and repetetiva and this thing moved fast, very fast.
Just when it was getting close, Claire whispered in his Ear "Cover your Ears, Now" and sprayed something on the both of them. Then they waited until it got to them and passed but it felt long, did the Monster slow down or did it maybe avert from their position?
In any case it suddenly stopped, immediate relief came over.
But that relief was short lived when Claire suddenly whispered "Run". Lighting a light sorce strapped to her clothes and dashing out of the Tent.
For the Monster was right outside the Tent, unleashing a staggering screech.
From a massive hollow hole where air is viscous and toxic, driven by curiosity you dive in. Only to recover a corpse you believe at first, but you couldn't have been more wrong.
