And nothing comes to my mind.

I don't have much life experience, for I am still young.

And I haven't faced oppression,

And I haven't faced abuse,

And I haven't faced violence.

But I see these things on the news and they make me feel.

Feel sadness, and anger, and hopelessness,

For how could the world be like this?

Sometimes my mind is filled with words and sentences,

But they never make it onto the paper.

And I want to write about something, anything,

But no words seem to describe those feelings.

But as a woman, and as a member of society,

I can empathise with the horrific events.

I can imagine, even if imagining is uncomfortable.

Sometimes, you have to be uncomfortable to spread awareness.

So as I write these poems, I like to come up with topics.

I write about feminism a lot: I want to give words to the women who have none.

I want to shine light on the hurting girls and let them be seen.

I want to clear the confusion and make the issues clear.

Sometimes the poems are bad and the rhymes don't match, but I make my message clear.

Often, I write about religion: sometimes for, sometimes against.

Mostly about the hypocracy and the flaws.

A lot about the oppression it causes.

Mental health is another common theme.

It's important to talk about it, even if nobody wants to.

It's too taboo in this world; people are dying.

Sometimes all people need is to feel seen.

However, sometimes I don't want to write about dark things.

I don't want to drown in the negativity and pain of the world.

Sometimes I write about things like nature and love.

For the world can be beautiful too.

We can feel things in our hearts that don't have to be bad.

We need reminding that humanity can be good, too.

It can be hard to find the goodness in a sea of hate,

But it's there, begging to be seen.

Sometimes these poems don't turn out how I want,

The words jumpling and sentences uneven.

But then I remember that poetry doesn't have to be pretty.

It doesn't have to make sense,

And it definetly doesn't have to be familiar.

Poetry isn't all about rhythyms and rhymes:

It's about talking about what it's like to be human; the good and the bad.

It's about letting people feel things.

It's about making people think.

Not about making worlds look and nice people feel comfortable.

So even if the words don't end up on paper how I wanted them too,

Or I don't know how to put my thoughts on the screen,

Or I'm scared to write about something controversial, or dark,

I know these things have to be spoken about,

And my words don't have to make sense,

For they make perfect sense. 

So as I'm sitting in my bedroom, typing this now,

Imagining who might read my poems,

Who might like them and who might hate them,

What peoples thoughts and opinions will be,

And even if anyone will see this at all,

I am reminded that those things don't matter.

That as long as I write my own emotions,

I am putting things into the world.

Things that help, and things that heal.

Things that shine positivity in the darkness,

And let the dark things be seen.
