Some jobs suck.

A million years ago when I worked a phone job, I never realized what I was in for. When I first started, I began to experience dizzy spells and heart palpitations about 3 months in.
6 months into the job, my skin and back ached so much from the constant crackle and were almost always hot to the touch. My mental periphery tried to kill itself with ugly colors (two words: Screaming Children); I felt constant needles in my skin and an itching fire in my muscles. I was constantly exhausted, constantly dizzy and had days where I was saturated with sensation and misery; no amount of detox alleviated my ills.
After I was laid off, I went through two weeks of not having my head jammed into a headset, and the prospect of having to return to the ‘acid mines’ as they’re lovingly called. I stopped having dizzy spells and heart palpitations altogether. My body no longer burned or twinged, my periphery relaxed and pulsated with the normal colors of the negligible noise around me.
I didn't know this for what it was at the time, but I had spent almost 4 years in a near-constant state of sensory overload. I think I was the only person who danced out the door the day he was laid off.
Also I made this NSFW because I'm not sure how people feel about certain imagery being unlabled so, I figured I'd better be on the safe side.
