I think, supposedly, the lore says that Acolytes r bound by a sacred oath, so that they can't harm creatures using blades, yadda yadda. But that doesn't justify the fact that they still use spiked maces to pulverise their enemies O:<
So I like to think that they literally forget how to use blades as soon as they put on the uniform lmao.
