The horrifying sound of my buzzer is going off like crazy, good thing no one else can hear it. Ms. M is still teaching normally, like nothing is happening. No one knows that there is anything happening. “Urk…” I cough, bright blood spattering the white pages in front of me.
“Merida! Hey, someone go get the nurse!” Yells Ms. M, I cough up more blood, the papers are now a wet dark black, ink fading into blood.
“You bastard…” I whisper to A. This is it, there goes my normal human life. I pop out a sword pod, hitting him right in the gut. He goes flying into the south wall, his invisibility to humans is now terminated.
“Bitch… ha guess just because you’re in human form doesn’t mean you can’t use your pods huh?” He glares at me with his faded blue eyes. “Listen, I’ll make this short and sweet, so I can kill you quicker. The Crash are trying to knock out Earth and it’s all your fault.” I look at him with confusion in my eyes. “Remember that time you ran away with The Egg, well they want it back. And you got me into this shit, prime witness my ass.” I get hit with his Merriks, those damn things are even invisible to me, hitting the wall breaking my ribs. More blood streaming out of my mouth. His Merricks grab hold of my throat, choking me. The air slowly starts to burn inside my throat.
“I-it’s not…not my f-fault,” I spit out, “A, let go-o.” Coughing more and more, blood spattering onto the Merricks, giving them an outline so I can see them. A loud bang coming from outside, the school shakes at the wall next to me tumbles down to rubble. Of course they are here…
It’s Blank.
“What the hell was that?” He yells at me. My classmates all hiding in corners and under desks. I fall to the ground, gasping for air, my throat stings as the air seeps into my lungs, my broken ribs cracking with more breaths. Mar breaks through the rubble.
“What are you doing, A?” He asks, worry in his eyes. Yellow and Clare push past him running to me. “Arina, what happened to you? Why are you still in human form?” Mar quietly asks me with his little smirk.
“I hate you so much.” I harshly say as I stand up, my ribs cracking again, the pain is bearable, but my lungs are being pierced with fragments of bone, human bodies can’t do shit. Pulling him towards me, our lips touch. “Finally, being human sucked balls.” I say as I back away from Mar, my body changing back into normal.
“Oh thank god Arina, your back!” Yellow exclaims hugging me tightly. Motioning Mar and Clare to join. Mar doesn’t hesitate and joins right in, behind me of course.
“You guys aren’t supposed to be here until Thursday. What happened?”
“You probably heard from A, The Crash are mad and want the Egg back. But Blank won’t give in so easily!” Yellow excitedly tells me. “Oh right, Mar was also whining that he missed you too, so even if The Crash wasn’t coming for you we would still have shown up.”
“Yellow, shut up! Ren probably missed me too, so it wasn’t just me, we have been fated together again Ren.” He smirks at me again.
“Screw off Mar.”
“Love you too, Ren.” he winks. My classmates just stare at me, well I’ll be gone sooner or later, so why does it matter what they think of me. “Anyways, let’s get going then.” Mar starts walking back to the ship outside.
The ship is just as I remember it, the control panel still has the burn marks from when Mar’s sister came, my room door is closed, the cracks still outlining where I slam it closed. More burn marks on the wall from when Mar got drunk, the slashes in the walls from training, the faint smell of ashes still lingers. The only thing different is it’s a total mess, the only thing Blank can’t do is clean, unless I’m here. I don’t even settle in, I just start tossing things out, garbage bags fill the outside of the ship. “Yo! Ren, watcha doing? You just got here, aren’t you going to go through anything?” He smirks again, that stupid smirk. I always know something's up when that little smirk spreads across his face.
“What did you do? Mar, I don’t have time for one of your shitty little games. At least help out with the cleaning.”
“Just follow me, I’ll do the whole cockpit if you come.”
“ And the gunner cube, or no deal.” The gunner cube is on the bottom of the ship it's Mar’s space when we are out in the vast universe.
“Fine.” Just get this done and over with, I follow him to my room, he had to do something to it, because that stupid smirk is back on his face. “Hold out your hands, Tada!~” A small gift bag plops into my hands, it’s surprisingly heavy. Pods… “Open it, I saved up just for this!” I peel open the top, pulling out the colorless tissue paper, there they are, pods.
“Mar…You stole them didn’t you?”
“Ren! I would never steal something!” He smiles. I look through them, clothing pods, weapon pods, energy pods, and more than I could have ever imagined. “I did good, huh?”
“I hate to say it, but maybe just a bit…”
“Mar! You’re so great, I love you so much! Ah, Mar would you go out with me! No even better, marry me!” He mocks me in a high voice.
“Only in your dreams.” I harshly spit back. He walks up to me and kisses my forehead, patting my head.
“I’ll do the rest of the cleaning, just get some rest.” He smiles as he walks out of the door waving. I guess it wouldn’t hurt to try out all the pods.
