Abyssal Lord

Chapter 1 - Blood Phenomenon

Chapter 1 - Blood Phenomenon

Mar 03, 2024

The southern border of the Aragon Empire, the Aquitania province adjacent to the Acura Plains, the territory of Lord Duke Paul Claes. His Excellency the Duke's province is not only vast and populous, it is also the largest producer of timber, grain and fur in the Aragon Empire.

In the southernmost part of the province, in the middle of a small mountain range that stretched and curved away for about a hundred kilometers on the edge of the Acura Plains, there was a town called "Salz" that did not cover a large area. Because it is a long way from the main road built by the empire on the Acura Plain, and the path connecting the main road is quite rugged, therefore, Salz does not have much contact with the outside world.

The storm, which had raged for half a month in a row, finally receded unwillingly but helplessly amidst the incessant curses of Salz City's residents and merchants. The long-lost sun also couldn't wait to poke its head out of the clouds that still looked a bit gray, and a trace of steam slowly rose from the black sludge.

At the time when a few cooking smokes began to rise in the town, in a jungle outside the deserted countryside where the grass and thorns were overgrown, a lone, thin and frail figure was dodging through the thorns and vines and trees that kept attacking him in a light and skillful manner. He had a pair of sharp but clear pupils, and his dexterous toes supported his thin and thin body. Those sharp eyes seemed to be able to see through every obstacle, searching for small animals that had been injured in the storm's ravages as well as wild mushrooms, wild vegetables, and other food that could be gathered.

The little boy wore only a thin linen-colored shirt on his thin frame. Like the vast majority of the Empire's poor, the material of the shirt was made of the most common and worst linen. The thin shirt had already been mixed with rain and sweat, and through the thin shirt sticking to the skin, one could even vaguely see a rib cage and vertebrae.

The sunlight after the rain was currently penetrating through the not-so-dense jungle canopy and wrapping him in a thin layer of water mist. The warm and moist southwestern wind was caressing his brownish hair, which was yellowish due to malnutrition.

Aaron, the boy's name, is a kitchen boy at a tavern in town. Today he has to fulfill the task set for him by the cook, old Gibson - to collect a whole bag of ingredients.

There were quite a few ingredients for him to gather in the forest after the rain, but it was not easy to harvest prey like pheasants and hares that would escape. It was important to realize that a tavern without a supply of meat would not do well.

Little Aaron seemed to have seen the rude Gibson grabbing his collar with those big greasy and stained hands and lifting it up unceremoniously, his big mouth opening and closing in time with the rough curses, dirty thick spit and spittle spewing out of those black gums in handfuls onto his little face.

"Ah ............," screamed little Aaron in horror, frantically shaking his dirty little head, as if to throw off the images and voices of Gibson that filled his head and away.

Aaron did not dare to linger in this already dark jungle for even one more breath of time, he must seize all the time to try to complete the task that old Gibson had explained to him, and to do it excellently, and perhaps be rewarded with a piece of cheese smeared with butter. He sharply grabbed the sack thrown aside, and his dexterous and agile figure darted and leaped between the thorns and rocks, his hands poking out and retracting from time to time as he undulated his body, and the sack gradually became bulging. Slowly, with the passage of time, the bag was finally filled, and there were also a few hares that had been injured by the broken wood in the storm.

"Well, it's almost time to go back!" Aaron muttered to himself as he fiddled with the sack a few times and looked at the sky again.

With memories long burned into his mind, the boy kept avoiding obstacles within the dark jungle, turning back towards the original path as fast as he could.

"Splat", Aaron only felt the ground beneath his feet shake violently, his body that had stepped on a rock while running suddenly lost its center of gravity, and he fell to the ground. A sharp pain followed at the joints of his ankles, and as he looked down, dark red blood was already oozing from several cuts.

The sharp pain on his ankle and the sound of the wind in his ears that sounded like a ghost's howl made him reach the edge of panic. He even forgot to pick up the wild mushrooms and vegetables that he had gathered after a long day of work and desperately crawled up, breathing in the cold and damp air, half-crawling, half-walking towards the edge of the jungle. He tried to straighten himself up slightly so that he could get a little faster.

Apparently, the pain was so intense that he couldn't walk far, and finally had no choice but to lie down under a boulder and carefully examine the wound. Bones are not broken, only to flash to the ankle, to the stone cut a few small cuts, stay for a night should be no big deal. Little Aaron thought so. In this way, his panic dissipated a lot.

"Better get back soon, or I'll get scolded again!" The boy muttered to himself, before struggling to hold on to the smooth stone wall and brace himself.

"Huh! What's that?" Chagrined and powerless, the boy's eyes were suddenly drawn to a piece of glittering crystal red light at his feet.

"That's pretty!" Aaron slowly leaned down and reached out to pick up the object that was half hidden by silt and branches, "Wow, so it's a little rock!"

The boy carefully weighed under, the stone block is not heavy, can even be said to be very light, and with the usual seen all kinds of stone has a big difference is: crystal transparent, gusts of blood-red haze shrouded the surface of the stone block, as liquid-like haze slowly flowed.

What is this thing? For a moment, Aaron fell back on the strange stone. The pain in his ankle and the rain that kept pelting on his head were both completely ignored by the boy.

Admittedly, novelty gadgets always catch the eye of a poor freeman, especially a child.

After playing with it for a while, the boy found that neither rain nor dirty mud could stick to the blood-colored stone. What made him wonder even more was that, as if he had become one with the bloody stone, the water droplets dripping from the branch above his head splashed away as if they had encountered an invisible barrier when they landed in the empty space about one finger from his body.

"Wow, it's so warm! Warmer than that fuzzy coat Mr. Hakim wears in the winter!" A rapport of warmth came from the palm of the hand that held the bloodstone, and in the blink of an eye, it filled the whole body with warmth. The boy raised his hands and jumped happily on his feet.

"Huh! My foot - haha, my foot doesn't hurt anymore." It wasn't long before the boy was surprised to find that the pain coming from his ankle actually slowly slowed down and finally disappeared. Although the injury was still red and swollen, the color was obviously much lighter, and the blood was no longer oozing out.

"Thank the omnipotent Lord of War! Haha, this must be a magical piece." The cheering boy decided to carefully hide the stone that was like a blood vampire. Well, hide it tightly.

"Ah!" As he was about to find a place to get out of the rain, the boy who stood up violently accidentally hit the stone wall that crossed over his head, causing him to cry out in pain. The pain seemed to be wielding a wooden stick and knife and fork viciously saying to him, "Kid, it's not that easy to drive us away, Jie Jie!"

In the next instant, however, he almost suspected that he was on his way to heaven. An impact swept over him like a dream ----

On the dome of the sky, the tumbling thick ink swept out from time to time a purple lightning silver snake. Gale scrolling under the ink clouds abruptly and violently stagnant, a huge purple lightning thunder crash issued kala-la-ching thunder loud will be dark as ink sky distortion, tearing, like an angry dragon with destructive might straight down.

Below the thunder, there was an endless mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, a brawny man shrouded in a blood-colored mist changed his seal in his hands, and a grain of crystalline blood vampire that had been compressed and solidified to the extreme shot up.

The purple thunder that was like a furious dragon swooping down seemed to be enraged by the blood vampire that came face to face from below, erupting into an even greater roaring thunder, its speed unexpectedly accelerating by several times. With a series of loud rumbles, the blood vampire didn't block the thunder, but it clearly weakened its prestige.

Unable to avoid, the man even used his physical body to resist the powerful purple thunder. Under the thunder rage, the man's magnificent and sturdy body was gradually engulfed by the thunder, and finally the ashes flew into oblivion. However, in the moment before the man's body was about to be engulfed by the thunder, a blood light tore open a small space crack and drilled into it. Stuart Family ...... Blood...Monarch ............

Finally, a single blood-colored text bloomed like a firework before the boy's eyes, then dissipated and faded, then evaporated into wisps of blood-

In horror, Aaron's eyes rounded and his mouth opened wide in surprise as he saw the blood vampire-like stone quickly rise up in curls of blood qi and merge into himself.

    Boom ......

There was a loud boom between his brain, as if it was a thunderstorm. The boy only felt that an indescribably large amount of mighty energy instantly failed to enter his mind, his body, his limbs, and even his soul were all filled with this huge and incomparable amount of mighty energy.

The boy's consciousness faded, his eyes became white, then darkness struck -

"Aaron, bloodline of my Stuart family, sleeping soul, brutal and unruly soul, awaken-" a voice that seemed to come from hell rang out and called out the moment the boy lost consciousness!
