It was 11 p.m.
Everything was dark.
The sea was rough with wind.
There wasn’t a single ship on the horizon.
But…
Despite it all, the only sound I could hear was the scream inside me.
Suddenly, I flinched at a voice.
The 4th officer was calling out:
“Cadet, scan those documents and come back—we still have work to do!”
“Got it, I’ll take care of it and be right there.”
I grabbed the documents.
Hurried down the stairs.
As I walked toward the scanner, the voice inside me rose again:
“You shouldn’t have made that choice…”
Back then, I thought I made the right decision by forcing myself.
But in truth… I was only silencing myself.

When my watch ended, I returned to my cabin.
This time…
The scream was even louder.
Pitch darkness surrounded me.
And only that voice.
Only that scream…
That day…
I should have chosen differently.
I couldn’t take it anymore.
