“YURA”
I snapped my eyes open while gasping for air. My name still ringing in my ears.
“What was that?”
“Where am I?”
I had woken up in an unknown place.
Slowly gaining my composure, I sat upright on the bed that I was lying on.
There was a sharp pain in my head that almost made me faint.
After a few minutes of struggle I got myself together and looked around the room that I was in. But nothing was really visible because the room was completely dark.
Unable to handle the darkness, I slowly got out of the bed and started searching for a light switch.
I navigated myself with the help of my hands and finally found the light switch after some struggle.
Looking around the now well-lit room I came into the realization that I am in a hotel room.
I was dry and not cold at all.
“I am even wearing completely different set of clothes.”
Although I couldn’t completely recall what I was wearing, I was definitely not wearing casual a T-shirt and trouser.
My eyes shifted towards the desk beside the bed. The desk had a lamp and a pill bottle.
“Are those sleeping pills?”
I walked towards the desk and inspected the bottle.
“What are these sleeping pills doing here?”
I didn’t dwell on those pills for long and placed those pill where it was and continued looking around the hotel room.
The hotel room was very standard. It had a bed, a desk, a TV, a closet, and a bathroom.
My head was pounding and I didn’t know where I was. My memories were completely blurry. Nothing was making sense. The only that I clearly remembered was the fact that there was a ship accident and that I was falling into the cold deep sea.
Out of frustration I sat down on the bed and put my hand on my face.
It was not that my memories were completely gone; every moment bits of my memories would come into my mind.
And at the moment the only thing that I remembered was my identity.
I am Yura Hasien, an S-Class Esper with telekinesis and teleportation abilities. The only other person that I remembered was my brother, but aside from that I couldn’t remember his name.
The more I thought about it the more frustrated I became.
Not only was I not able to remember why and how I was here, but I had also forgotten everything about my brother, the only man who supported me in every step of my life.
That was when an image of me (?) drowning flashed before my eyes, followed by a figure who looked like my brother swimming towards me. The memory then suddenly vanished.
I was frightened and filled with questions.
“What was he doing there?”
“What am I doing in a hotel if I was in an accident?”
It felt like my mind would just explode any moment.
The continuous bits of memories that were slowly coming into my mind, the disappointment on not remembering my brother, the accident, not knowing where I am, and most of all not knowing anything was making me feel uneasy, scared, and confused.
“What the heck is happening?”
“Am I dead?”
All the dilemma and uneasiness made me sick to my stomach.
I lifted my hands from away my face and covered my mouth to overcome the nausea. But at the end the urge to vomit was so strong I had no choice but to quickly stand up and dashed towards the bathroom.
The moment I entered the bathroom I hurried towards the toilet and immediately threw up into the toilet bowl.
After throwing up I felt slightly better and slowly lifted my face.
To my horror I had thrown up clots of blood. The blood almost covered the entire bowl. It looked so horrific that if someone would have walked in on me they would have thought it was murder scene.
Disgusted and horrified by the clots of blood I immediately flushed the toilet without any thoughts and bolted out of the bathroom and leaned against the closed bathroom door.
Sigh. I took a few deep breaths and organized my disheveled mind.
My eyes then fell on the watch on my wrist.
“9:43 pm”
It’s night time, by now I should be getting red alerts by now.
Wait, now that I think about it there haven’t been any cries or alerts. Usually the entire town would be covered with cries by now.
Skeptical about the entire situation I approached the window that was beside the bed and opened its curtains.
The entire city looked untouched…
“Why does everything look so normal and untouched?”
Seeing such an unfamiliar sight took off guard.
That sight alone piqued my curiosity. I decided to go down and see for myself why everything looked so normal.
I put on my shoes and walked towards the door.
