After having his heart broken by his long-term now ex-boyfriend, River decides to drink his sorrows away. What he doesn’t expect is to wake up the following morning in bed with another man at a hotel. Mortified that he had easily slept with someone when he hadn’t let his ex touch him, he fled from the room after leaving some money, feeling a little bad. He knows that he would never see the man again, so it didn’t really matter.
Weeks pass, and after having no luck finding a job due to his ex, River is offered an interview as the secretary for the CEO of Knight Productions. He goes to the interview but can’t help but notice that the CEO is a little hostile with him, but River has never seen him in his entire life. River gets the job, but he quickly learns why the CEO goes through secretaries as he walks in numerous times to his boss screwing different men on his desk.
It goes on for too long until River decides to confront him which ends badly.
He doesn’t want to give himself to this handsome man, but he can’t help but be drawn to the cold CEO. It mortifies him when he learns that the CEO is the person he had a one-night stand with, and as they share a bed again, the CEO promises that he won’t let River run away from him again.
Not if he wants to ever get a job in this city.
But CEO Knight is not someone who is ever meant to fall in love, but River isn’t interested in just a one-night stand. And CEO Knight’s past flings are going to do everything in their power to tear them apart because to them, the relationship was doomed from the start…
And River is starting to think the same thing as he realizes he is in love with the Cold-Hearted CEO.
