Love is curious 

The first time Ethan laid eyes on love was then. Back then when he was slammed into a wall by a guy who had just been thrown to the side, at that moment when their eyes met Ethan fell deeply and hopelessly in love. He was tall with a sharp upturned nose, bright blue eyes, and a cute mole under his left eye. From that moment on Ethan was curious, curious to meet this beautiful boy who just barged into his life. But fate wanted him to wait a little longer it seems. Because just as the guy had slammed into Ethan he was gone back into the fight that had started in the middle of the street. He fought well- a bit awkward with his long thin limbs but still graceful. Ethan tried to figure out as to why the boy was fighting- taking in the fight he realized the boy had been stolen from- in his opponent's hand was a plain-looking necklace that the boy kept on reaching for. Now if you were to ask Ethan why he got involved in the fight he would say he didn’t know why all he knew was suddenly he was throwing his whole body into the thief’s stomach. Leading with his elbow. The thief fell, bringing Ethan down with him. The necklace went flying from the thief’s hand and the boy quickly picked it up, putting it around his pale slim neck. Distracted by the boy’s beauty, the thief was able to clock Ethan in his jaw, sending Ethan flying off the thief. That's when the guard arrived. Reeling from the impact of the punch Ethan wasn’t able to get up just yet even though he knew he should, being caught by the guard is not a good thing. In his stupor, someone had hoisted him up on his feet and ushered him. Soon Ethan found himself running next to the beautiful boy. He was smiling a blinding and world-shattering grin that caused Ethan to stumble, but the boy steadied them.

“I’m Suki!”He yelled and Ethan blushed, Suki chuckled and pulled him to the side, both of them now hiding in an alleyway. Suki panted and looked at Ethan expectantly. It took longer than Ethan would like to admit to understand what it was that Suki wanted, he cleared his throat, his face growing impossibly hotter.

“I’m Ethan.” 

One simple introduction changed his life forever.

Love is companionship  

Ethan and Suki, Suki and Ethan an inseparable duo. Ethan and Suki quickly became friends after the introductions in the alleyway, they lived on the streets together. Ethan found it easier to bear and survive life with a partner in crime, not in a literal sense since they both tried to stay away from illegal activities. But Ethan was happy to have a friend this even more so as Suki bounds up to him smiling brightly holding a small loaf of bread and an apple. Ethan smiled as he took it from Suki.

“I got you breakfast!”Suki beamed and Ethan smiled appreciatively. Suki didn't eat human food being a vampire, all that could feed him was blood, which Ethan happily provided. Suki sat down and leaned against the wall patting his lap. Ethan rolled his eyes but sat down. He started his breakfast and exposed his neck so Suki could start his. They fell into a comfortable silence- to Ethan it felt like peace embodied into a single moment- like the calm after a rainy morning. Ethan loved when he and Suki ate together he never felt lonely that way- he hasn’t felt lonely in years because of Suki and his forever grateful.

Forever grateful for his friend, which is why he will never tell Suki how he really feels. How he feels so content in Suki’s arms and how he wished to kiss and cuddle Suki forever. He’s loved Suki since the day he met him there was no denying that, but Ethan wanted to keep his companionship.

He wanted to keep the other half of his heart in his life even if that meant they stayed only friends.
