EXIT ROOM - We Never Left

Chapter 1: The White Room Without Time

Chapter 1: The White Room Without Time

Apr 03, 2025

The first thing Wet noticed wasn’t a voice.
It wasn’t a sound.
It was a silence that felt like it was watching him.

When he opened his eyes, the world was... white.

Not blank.
Not bright.
Just—white in a way that didn’t feel natural.

There was no floor he could see.
No visible light source.
And yet, everything glowed with a cold, surreal brightness.
Like the shadows had been edited out of existence.

He sat up.

His arms worked.
His legs responded.
He was whole, physically.

But inside?

Empty.

He looked around.

He wasn’t alone.

There were seven others.
Scattered across the same colorless space.

Some were curled up, asleep.
Some were already awake, sitting in silence.
One was standing, eyes fixed on a wall that wasn’t really a wall.

Then—
a voice.

Not from a speaker.
Not even from the air.

It spoke from inside their heads.

“Welcome to the EXIT ROOM.”

The words didn’t echo.
They just landed.
Soft and absolute.

“You are here because you have not finished.”

Wet blinked.

Not because he understood.
But because... something inside him twitched at that sentence.

He glanced around again.
No doors.
No windows.
No shadows.

Just people.
And eight glowing squares—mirrors—facing each of them now.

Except...

The mirrors didn’t reflect them exactly.

They reflected... versions of them.
Some older. Some younger.
Some with pain in their eyes that wasn’t there now.
Some... smiling, when they definitely weren’t.

“This room is the final point. The place where forgotten things are remembered.”

“You may leave... but only once you understand.”

Someone stood up.

Tall.
Calm.
A guy with a scar over his brow.

“I’m Nine,” he said. “I don’t know why I’m here.”

His mirror flickered.

Words appeared:

“Identity received. Memory incomplete. Evaluation pending.”

A girl stood next.
Straight posture.
Clear voice.

“My name is Meena. I know I’m hiding something.”

Her mirror glowed warmer.

“Statement accepted. Mirror stable.”

Wet didn’t move.

His mirror didn’t either.

Because he didn’t even know if “Wet” was his name.

Or if it was just what this room called him.

But when he looked into his reflection,
the face staring back at him whispered with its eyes:

“You’ve been here before.”

What if you woke up in a pure white room, with no memories of how you got there — and a mirror that shows a version of you you’ve never dared to be?

EXIT ROOM is a psychological mystery that isn’t about solving puzzles.
It’s about remembering what you tried to forget, and confronting the versions of yourself that refused to die with time.

This story isn't loud.
But it will echo in your head long after the last page.

For fans of Silent Hill, Black Mirror, Your Turn to Die, and stories that ask:
What part of you gets left behind when you leave a place that never wanted you to go?
