Liam Dawson resolved to never go home. With a family who would never accept him and a town that was more hostile than welcoming, he never thought he would have an issue with his choice. But when his parents die in a tragic accident, he is forced to return to deal with their estate. After medically transitioning over his eight years away, he finds that no one from town recognizes him. He figures it's safer to go stealth, pretend to be a stranger, handle his business, and leave before he can be caught.
Until he gets a message on his old Skype account from his high school friend, Duncan Lange. Like the others, Duncan hasn't connected the dots about Liam's true identity. Not wanting to risk being discovered, Liam decides to continue the charade: play the part of the daughter his parents always dreamed of online, while continuing to be his true self in real life.
But old feelings start to resurface, and Liam soon learns that secrets pile on fast.
