The sounds of a mother's music played soft throughout the room. It echoed off the walls making it sound graceful with every note that left her fingertips. The song would remind you of the kindest times in your life; when you were simple minded and innocent. The days when you thought nothing could hurt you. This was such for her two children. They sat playing on the ground across from their mother’s feet, behind the case of the piano.
She stopped so abruptly when a sudden change in the atmosphere occured. Something had gone wrong somewhere in the castle. Down the hall dozens of guards had been slain along with her husband, the king of their kingdom, Celestial had fallen; struck down by an intruder. Standing above him was a woman - tall in height, just passing the six foot mark. She wore a cold expression on her face, unfazed by the horrific act she had just committed. In fact, after moments went on she looked almost pleased with herself. The stranger had single-handedly taken out the King of Celestial and the royalty’s protection without so much as a bat of an eye.
The mother and their royal highness could sense that something so criminal had happened. Silence plagued the castle as the intruder moved from the King’s office and down the hall towards the Queen. She quickly gathered her children and fled with them to a higher story within the castle. There was so much she didn’t know about what had taken place or what would make of her and her young and the only thought that ran through her mind was to hide them in the hopes that they would be safe. The flaw that had come with the panic of trying to hide herself and her children was the flickering of the lights. She possessed the rare ability to control and manipulate light and without that control the lighting system around the castle was coruscating wildly.
“Mommy, I’m scared!” One of the Queen’s children, Marie cried out under the wings of her mother. They were hidden well enough for now in a sealed off room on the upper floor from where the intruder was roaming.
“Don’t be, my love,” she reassured her daughter that everything would be fine and kneeled down to them both, hugging them to comfort their fear. “We’ll be fine, you’ll see.”
The invader noticed the lights right away and had started following the pattern of their flickering. The closer she got to the Queen and her children, the more the flickering grew into a constant blinking. It revealed the Queen’s hiding place almost too easily and the intruder smirked. She forced the sealed door open and gazed upon the Queen and the children underneath her wings.
“Thalia...come here! I want to speak to you!” She grinned ear to ear in a twisted manner towards the Queen. “Get over here!” The intruder had no magical power, only brute force and an insane motive. Thalia got up from her crouched position and stood up to face the intruder while still keeping her children hidden from sight.
“You have no right to be here,” she kept a calm but strong voice in this time of fear. “You need to leave here right away!” The intruder smiled wider and stepped closer to Thalia.
“I’m not going anywhere.” She brought her fists up in a fighting stance and swung at Thalia. There was only one try that was needed to bring down the Queen before she could put up any kind of a fight. The King and Queen were gone. Their reign had ended.
