“It isn’t that hard you punk!“ “You just have to sneak in and take it” Yulian pinned the kid up against the wall with his right hand. “I...i..i just“ He was clearly frightened by Yulian, not that Yulian looked frightening, he was actually pretty good looking, for a 12 year old boy that is. He had Dark brown eyes, his wings were small even for a kid, but that was to be expected down here. His hair was the same colored hair, which was quite greasy, and you could see that he hadn’t washed it in a very long time. None of us really had. Water was quite hard to get by and why would we waste in on taking a bath.
Yulian raised his left hand and the kid’s eyes got big and glossy as he turned his head to the side, waiting for Yulian’s hand to hit him. “Know your place” Yulian said as he struck the kid. “Now go get those guns for me, you have 24 hours”. He said with a confident tone. Then he dropped the kid on the ground, and we looked as the kid was shaking, but got up and stumbled away in a rush.
When he was gone Yulian turned to us and smiled. Which he only did in front of his best friends. And that included me, the two boys to my right, Alec and Elijah, and the youngest of the group, Olly to my left. “And what if he doesn’t come back with the weapons or gets captured by the Ventui?” Alec asked. “Were almost out of ammo on our guns and our knifes won’t be very useful in a gunfight less alone a gunfight” Yulian turned his head and looked at Alec. “If it comes to that we still have one weapon left” He looked at me with a smirk on his face. “Raven will fight for us if it becomes absolutely necessary”. I nodded slightly to him as he said it. Then he turned and began to walk away. And like a pack of loyal dogs we all followed him.
As we turned down the small alley, I saw our house, if you could even call that a house. It was almost a just a small box squished in between a thousand identical boxes. The walls were made of thin concrete and different metal pieces, to cover the many holes in the walls. The house was to storages, but we only had access to the top floor by metal staircase sticking out the side of the wall and supported by only one thin metal pillar. The roof was made out of and combination of metal and wood pieces. We’ve tried to cover the small holes and cresses in both the roof and walls, but there still kept coming water in when it rained.
We walked up the stairs one by one. We never walked more than one person on the stair. It was so frail that we were afraid it would fall apart, if we stepped more than one person on it.
Our house only had one room like most of the houses in the downcity. The room was so small that there wasn’t much space for the five of us in there. We could barely walk around and at night we all slept so tight, that we sometimes woke up on top of each other.
It was already late, and we only got one meal, which only consisted of one piece of old hard and dry bread for each of us, today which wasn’t much compared to the running we had done today to find that scrawny kid. But there wasn’t anything we could do about it, right now at least, so we all decided to go early and very hungry to bed and steal something better tomorrow.
“Raven”
“Raven”
I looked up but everything was pitch black and I couldn’t see a thing.
“Raven”
I turned around to where I thought the voice was coming from, but there was only darkness.
I started walking in the direction of the voice.
“Raven”
“Raven” it kept whispering.
I was confused, but for some reason I wasn’t scared. The voice was actually kind of nice and comforting. It felt like I had walked for hours upon hours when suddenly I could see a tree in the distance. As I came closer, I could see that the tree was black, but even though everything around me was pitch black too I could still see the tree clearly. Suddenly the voice stopped, and I began feeling really cold. A chill ran down my spine and now I was scared. Very scared.
I turned around I suddenly I stood in front of my own reflection in a mirror. I had never seen a mirror before, only heard about them and how they show your reflection. I looked at my long black hair that was flowing like there was wind when there clearly wasn’t. I hadn’t noticed what I was wearing before, but it was no wonder I felt cold. I looked down my body and saw that I wasn’t wearing a thing.I was totally naked, and my way to pale skin was almost glowing in the darkness. It almost looked paler than usual with all the darkness surrounding it. But the weirdest thing was that a part of me was missing. Both my wings and horns were gone without a trace. It was weird seeing myself like that.
I put my hand on the reflection of my face and looked up again. I noticed something behind me. It was some kind of human looking creature, dressed in a black cloak and floating a bit over the ground. As it approached me everything seemed to get even darker. Now I was really scared, and I tried to run. But my legs wouldn’t move. I started to scream as the being approached me quicker and quicker.
