Description

Every great love story starts with 'hi.' At least, that's what Charles Aughtly learns when he accidentally sends an anonymous email confession to his long-time crush, Lucas Sawyer--and Lucas responds. After taking on the moniker 'C' to protect his identity--and his popularity--Charles is swept away by a pen-pal relationship that has him absolutely swooning. But secrets can't stay secret forever, and Charles quickly realizes he has to make a decision: risk his father kicking him out for being gay and pursue a real relationship with Lucas, or give up on love entirely.

Lucas Sawyer has always seen himself as a pillar of the Westwood LGBTQ community--until an anonymous email from one of his classmates sweeps him off his feet. C is mysterious, kind, and completely and totally off-limits. When Lucas starts to question his own identity, things with C get complicated, and Lucas is left wondering if he can find happiness in an anonymous screen name, or if he should ignore his budding feelings for C in favor of something tangible.

From cringy email handles to high school parties to confessions in the rain, Charles and Lucas fight to protect their budding relationship. When it seems like just about everything is trying to keep them apart, will Charles stand up for love, or let Lucas slip through his fingers?
