…….
…….
There was a heavy silence in completely empty, rundown room in the middle of nowhere. Just a few minutes ago, Salazar was peacefully humming a queer tune while watering his darling plants. Then, one his most favorite flowers – whom he named Dora – spewed something right in his face, and he died. The next he knew, there was a cheerful, child’s voice singing in his brain. He was lost. Both figuratively and literally. Looking through the many holes of the four walls surrounding him, he recognized nothing. Listening to that nonsense in his brain, he felt like banging his head against the wall, but was afraid that the walls would collapse and trap him.
“……..” he blanked. His gaze was dull while his mind was completely void of any complex thought. He only came to when he felt two objects grace his hands as they sent chilling feeling through his veins. Looking down, he saw two disc-shaped objects with smooth, dark gray surfaces. On one, a red eye was carved, while the other had some strange totem-like shape. “Huh…” he mumbled. “Dora would never kill me,” he added. “She’s my Dora, after all. I’ve planted her seeds, watered her every day, kissed her stems and petals, hugged her, and even slept wrapped around her often while she was growing up. Dora would never kill me.”
Salazar was, by accounts of many of his peers, a rather queer soul. When the whole of the world was in a craze over interstellar travel and breathtaking VR games, he built a cottage halfway up a lush mountain and created his own little paradise. It has been almost eleven years since he’d last spoken to anyone besides his flowers. To others, his life was depressing, but to Salazar, it was absolute perfection. So, one can imagine the sheer mass of betrayal, pain and agony he felt when his favorite flower killed him.
“Ah, let’s summon that demon-whatever-thing,” Salazar said emptily. “Maybe they’ll know how can I go back.”
He stared at the disc-shaped object with the carved eye before casually tossing it away and mumbling, “I choose you!”. The poor thing fell onto the floor and bounced a few times as it suddenly shuddered. Black vortex was birthed out of nowhere in front of Salazar.
Its edges slowly spun, but he hardly cared. Though he was witnessing something that shouldn’t be possible, he was completely indifferent to it. Perhaps, he was the only one in the world that would react like this. Ah, no, there are plenty other weirdos out there.
From within the spinning vortex, a shadow suddenly emerged. Smoke bellowed out and slowly formed a shape.
<Ding! Congratulations Host! You’ve successfully summoned: Super Lesser Smaller Weaker Crippled Demon!>
<Please give it a name!>
“…… one.”
<Ding! Congratulations Host! Your contract with the Super Lesser Smaller Weaker Crippled Demon One has successfully been formed! Keep at it!>
“Mast’aaah!!” a weird-looking thing was left behind as the vortex disappeared. It was the size of an average dog, standing on two thin legs. Its head was completely spherical like a ball and it had only a single eye without a pupil. Its two ears were spiky and long, and the size of his head was completely asymmetrical to the rest of its tiny body. A tail which broke off into two halfway through was dancing behind. “On’ come!”
“….” Salazar stared emptily at this thing. He suddenly missed Dora. Though the flower never spoke to him, he knew that she understood him. Merely her presence was enough for all his troubles to fade away. “How do I go back?” Salazar asked, a hint of hopefulness in his voice.
“Mast’aaah!! On’ come!”
“….”
“Mast’aaah!! On’ come!”
“Oh, just kill me please.”
“Mast’aaah!! On’ come!”
…….
The weird thing was currently sitting on Salazar’s shoulder. Its raspy voice finally disappeared for good when Salazar snapped and pummeled it seven times over into the ground. He was currently staring at the remaining disc-shaped object. He remembered that it would summon Demonic Nest or something, so he decided to walk outside before using it. Nest implies that it would spawn demons – or so Salazar theorized – so he wanted to try his luck.
Outside the shabby-looking-hardly-a-cottage thing was… nothing. Salazar realized that he was way high up a mountain, breaching even the clouds, as he couldn’t see anything below him. He was standing on a cliff side erected from the side of the mountain, and there were neither the trees nor the flowers anywhere near him… just clouds and barren soil. He casually threw the remaining disc-shaped object to the backside, where the cliff spilled into a mountain.
The object clashed against the mountain’s side and exploded. Another weird vortex was spawned, but rather than disappearing after spitting something out, it embedded itself into the mountain and stopped spinning, becoming a sort of a doorway.

“…” not wanting to repeat his mistake as he didn’t know what was waiting for him, Salazar took a moment to think. “Doom Land.” he figured that sounded foreboding enough.
