Hello and welcome to Solet! This is based around two characters from Freedom’s Pyre – Shin and Kit – but you don’t have to have read Freedom’s Pyre or be familiar with it at all to understand this story! It is a complete alternate universe and stands alone. For fans of Freedom’s Pyre, there will of course be easter eggs, and the chance to see a ‘what could have been’ for these two.

This is a simple holiday romance tale. It contains a ridiculous amount of soppy romance tropes, but also contains a subplot with homophobia as part of it. Please be aware that this story also features sequences OUT OF ORDER so please check the dates in the chapter headings so you are not confused as to what is taking place. It was written as a guilty pleasure, and is by no means meant to be taken as a work of serious, literary fiction.
