The flames roared. At the center of it, stood a mere toddler, no more than three years old. The entire room had already been consumed. The parents managed to pick through the flames and pick up the child, and just as suddenly as they appeared, the flames were gone. They later took him to the nearest seer.
“Curious. Very curious,” The seer spoke. The seer, contrary to the mother and father's expectations, was a young child of unidentifiable gender, and surprisingly about two years old. The seer had bright blue curse marks along her (his?) arms, but they seemed to be flickering out, as if dying. “Look upon his arms. They bear the signs of a curse, yet… No, it can’t be…”
The mother, trembling, asked, “What will happen?”
“Oh, his curse will become a blessing. But it is not quite time yet,” the seer replied. “In ten years time, his prophecy will come to pass.
Anger turns burning
Anger turns cold
Two furies must never collide
Lest the world face dangers untold.
“We seers have been preparing for centuries. Thousands of seers have poured their power into a seal. It will slow the curse until he is thirteen, but there will still be flames.”
The boy’s mother asked, “W-what’s all this about a prophecy? He-he’s just a child!”
“Ah, but he won’t be a child when the prophecy comes to pass,” replied the young seer. “And this shall not be the only curse he shall bear.”
With that, the seer vanished, and glowing marks began to appear on the child’s arms.
Author’s note
Hello reader! The fact that you have read my story this far (on the off chance that you see this) means that either I have somehow managed to catch your interest or that I have at least made you curious. So thank you! By the time I post this, it will be the first long-term project I have committed to. The chapters might be a little short, and unfortunately, due to school I might not be able to update regularly, but I will try to update whenever possible. If you could simply tell a friend about this book, it would help a lot.
Thanks again for your support!
-RavenJo.
