Scene 2: Jenna's Arrival
Cut to a busy street in Seoul. A young girl, JENNA, is gazing out of the window of a taxi, marveling at the city’s skyline.
JENNA:
(in awe)
Wow, Seoul is so beautiful.
The driver glances at her through the rearview mirror.
DRIVER:
Are you here for the first time?
JENNA:
Yeah, actually, it’s my first time in Korea.
DRIVER:
You look Korean, though. Maybe I’m mistaken.
JENNA:
(smiling)
No, you’re right. I’m half Korean, half Italian. My mom is Korean, and my dad’s Italian.
The driver nods, surprised but polite. Suddenly, Jenna’s phone rings.
JENNA:
(answering the phone)
Hello?
VOICE ON PHONE:
Jenna, where are you?
JENNA:
I’m in the taxi, heading to Aunty Min Ju’s house. Dad made it clear that I shouldn’t cause any trouble here. Don’t worry, I promise I’ll be good. The school thing won’t happen again. Bye, Dad!
The voice on the other end tries to speak, but she hangs up before he can respond. Jenna glances out the window, the phone call still echoing in her mind. The taxi driver pulls over.
DRIVER:
Miss, we’ve arrived.
JENNA:
Thank you.
She steps out of the car and stands before a grand mansion. Her eyes widen with admiration as she walks up to the door. Before she can knock, the door opens, revealing a graceful woman.
AUNTY MIN JU:
Oh, my sweet heart! You’ve finally arrived!
Jenna is enveloped in a warm hug.
JENNA:
(laughing)
Aunty, you look even more beautiful than I remember!
AUNTY MIN JU:
(laughs)
Oh, stop it with the flattery! But thank you.
JENNA:
No, I’m being honest! You really do look amazing.
AUNTY MIN JU:
(smiling)
Okay, okay. Enough of the compliments. Let me show you your room. I decorated it myself.
They walk upstairs. Jenna’s eyes light up as she steps into a room filled with soft, pastel colors, a large bed, and a cozy atmosphere.
JENNA:
Wow, I love it! It’s perfect, Aunty!
AUNTY MIN JU:
I’m glad you like it. Now, freshen up, and we’ll have dinner soon. We’ll talk more then.
JENNA:
Sounds good. Thanks, Aunty!

Scene 3: Dinner Table Discussion
Later, at the dinner table, the aroma of delicious Korean food fills the air. Aunty Min Ju looks at Jenna with curiosity.
AUNTY MIN JU:
I know you’ve got your school sorted out, but your brother didn’t mention which school you applied to for a scholarship. Which one is it?
JENNA:
I applied to HAIS—the High Academic International School.
The mention of the school makes Aunty Min Ju almost choke on her food.
AUNTY MIN JU:
(shocked)
You got a scholarship there? High Academic International School? That’s... surprising.
JENNA:
Yeah, I did. Why? What’s wrong?
AUNTY MIN JU:
(sighing)
It's not that it's a bad school. It's actually the best in the area. But... I’ve heard that there’s a lot of bullying and ragging. Some students even... well, some have taken their own lives because of it.
JENNA:
(confused)
Are you serious, Aunty? I’m not worried about it. You know me—I’m tough. It won’t be a problem.
AUNTY MIN JU:
(concerned)
I just don’t want you to be hurt. I’ve heard it can be very intense there, especially for scholarship students.
JENNA:
(assuredly)
Aunty, don’t worry. I promise nothing will happen to me. I’ll be fine. You know I can handle myself.
Jenna smiles softly, trying to reassure her aunt.
JENNA:
I’m really tired now. I’m going to get some rest. Don’t worry about me, okay?
She kisses her aunt on the cheek and heads upstairs to her room, her mind racing with the thoughts of the new school. Once she’s in her room, she sits on the bed, looking out the window, deep in thought.
JENNA:
(to herself)
What’s the worst that could happen? I’m not afraid of anyone. I’ll be fine.
She lies down, closes her eyes, and soon drifts off to sleep, her heart still unsure about what awaits her.
